The skies of ruin (Roleplay thread)

Posted

We were living in a time of technology advances, a time of union and for unknown reasons a time of true peace. We were around 7000 millions of people around the Earth. You can be sure that no one could have predicted that in only two years the population would have been reduced to only 900000 people, scattered around the world. Cities like Paris, London and New York now are history, and never seen before monsters roam the fiends, the eternal dusk now covering the world makes to think than time itself has stopped, but looking around you see that statement is a pure lie, and the eternal reminder of that day; the day of the Catastrophe, is the huge piece of land floating in the sky; the Floating Continent.

But what exactly happened? Unfortunately, almost no one knows the reason, because almost everyone who knew... are death.

Chapter 00: The gift appears - The monsters invades.

It was a new day again. By exact date you could say it was September 8th. The autumm will began soon... but since two years ago, that means nothing, at least not here in Rainfall. This town, once known by it´s rivers and green fiends now was a place surrounding by walls. But for some people.... this day changed many things up.

"Wooah! what the!" Well... that´s not the usual way to wake up morning, but for someone who broke the side table trying to tap the alarm clock... well that was shocking.... "How... Did I did that? No... maybe it was damaged or somethin... Geez!!" Again the same one was shocked as he broke the knob in the door. "what the ... ok... calm down... it´s nothing ... just calm down.... " he was saying this when he reminded of something: "Oh right It´s my turn in the watch!" He said while getting dressed and leaving the room as fast he could. Then he went outside the small and damaged house that he inhabit. His name was Edgar, and by such... the day that changed everything again... was about to begin.

(Ok guys lets begin this RP. The story will be divided into chapters allowing to move in certain orden around the story... now the stage is yours.)

Kagi began to tire, he was shaking so much that he could hardly hold his halberd. He stopped to risk catching his breath, leaning agaisnt a tree, when he heard a growl not too far behind. Kagi thought he had to stand and fight, but suddenly, an arrow brought down one of the beasts, then another. He heard a voice, presumably the archer that had just saved him, telling him to get to the gate. Kagi once again ran for the gate, and allthough he didn't notice, there was a light layer of frost on the tree where his hand was resting.

Kagi finally got the gate's entrance, but cursed as he saw it was closed and secured. Another growl behind him, Kagi spun around, tired of running, angrily gripping his halberd as he set eyes upon the fiercest looking one of the creatures he had seen. Aside from being larger and leaner looking, this one seemed to sport a sort of claw on its tail, a deadly looking spike that could easily pierce flesh and bone. Kagi locked eyes with the beast, as if they were agreeing to the terms of the duel, Kagi ran towards the beast, bringing the point on the halberd down into the monsters head, but not before the stinger like tail grazed Kagi's side

Joshua froze in fear. Whatever it may have been, something screeched, echoing and ringing in an incredible proximity. He turned pale, almost as much as the creatures that caused him to. The flower he had just cured from shriveling into death simply died instantly now. There was near silence. A trickling of claw-like fingers and slight panting was clear to be heard, among nothing else but his own fear in his breath. Another gave a distant hiss. Another seemed to almost whistle, a bit mysteriously, to the point Joshua couldn't tell the distance of. More creatures came his direction, rattling, more screeching, growling...almost all around...coming in the same direction. His.Nervously, Joshua almost cried of fear, as he hadn't had any experiences with any monsters in a long time. He slumped against his house. It creaked.Everything rushed in his direction, with imminent and swift movement all at once. Joshua nearly screamed...but alas, his voice cracked, speechless due to his circumstance. Desperately, he ran, hearing the incoming sounds of these creatures chase him. He ran ahead as fast as he could-- which, unfortunately, was less so than the creatures pursuing him. In the distance ahead, he saw another creature. Joshua debated against turning back, or another direction, but the creature was destroyed after an arrow shot. He was it's killer [Quint] and tried working up the courage to call for help. His voice was still a bit low, "Hel--"Joshua was cut off, clawed in the back by the first of the creatures to follow him.

Sora groaned and rolled over. She felt an arm impede her process, then she opened her eyes. Finding herself in unfamiliar settings, she sat up, pushing the arm away. Eyes coming into full focus, she kind of recognized who was next to her.

Blinking, she yawned and looked around. Spotting her clothes, she slipped from the bed and began getting dressed. She had just gotten her skirt fastened when she felt arms encircle her waist.

"Do you haaave to go?" The girl asked.

"Yeah. I don't make this my full time thing." She said back softly. With a soft sigh, her things were handed to her...and then the new blanket promised.

"Thanks. Glad you have some..."

The girl shook her head. "Hey, we're all trying to survive. Might as well keep my end of the deal."

Sora was on her way a few minutes later, her cat-eared headband put in nicely. She found herself at the familiar building. The decrepit sign had once read the name Barnes and Noble, but now said BAR E N N BL. She slipped into the bookstore and headed upstairs. Sliding through the shelves, she found herself in  stiff breeze.

That wasn't right.

Not right at all.

She held her hands up, but it stopped. Frowning to herself, Sora finally arrived at the small office she had made her home in. Closing the door behind her, she was about to undress and wash up when the alarm sounded. She groaned, then opened the door again and slipped out ran.

She had climbed up the side of her building and carefully jumped from rooftop to rooftop, and found the wind at her back ensuring she made it easily. She didn't think anything of it as she moved, and soon enough arrived on top of the wall. Looking down, there was the two trapped outside as the monsters attacked.

Sora might have a bad life after hell broke loose, but she was smart. The wind was helping her.

She jumped, and felt it's caress. Her descent slowed, and she touched down. at the diagonal from the runners, she drew her pistols and aimed. Another breeze at her back.

Well. Let's try...this.

Now, when a gun fires, the bullet has hit you before the sound finds you. Now, when her wind pushed the bullet, she found herself able to fire two shots before the sounds echoed. The first salvo struck the wolf clawing Joshua, and the next trio smacked the next one. She began aiming for the next, feeling the wind continue it's motion.

It was kinda cool. She felt like Aang. Kinda.

She kept up her attack, hoping they'd open the gates.

Zero looked at the others trapped outside... "Come on!" He shouted. The gate slowly rose back up. "You got five minutes! Get a move on!" He was rooting for them to make it, but still... Those monsters were getting close...and the needs of the many...

Jaxx ran through the woods with guitar and lance in hand. He heard a scream in the distance... A kid? Damn... He was so close to the end too...

"Hold on, kid!" He turned left, and ran to stab the beast

Jaxx was too slow, as another hail of bullets hit the beast. Sora rushed forward and grabbed Joshua, and began dragging him to the gate.

"Help! He's been hurt!" She called out. "Help!"

Kagi fell to the ground from the impact of the blow, he rolled over onto his back and reach for uis side, existing it to be a bloody mess, but to his surprise, he was fine, in fact, his sode felt solid, and stiff, (what the?...) Kagi moved to his coat to examine himself and saw that the side of his torso was encased in ice. The must of acted like armor, and shielded him from the creature's tail. Kagi didn't understand how this had happened, and was trying to figure it out when he heard gunshots, then, the gate began to open, and Jaxx shot past him.

Kagi followed, thinking people needed help. Jaxx was already fighting off some of the beasts when Kagi arrived, and he noticed ankid on the ground, apparently wounded, (damnit, those things got one) Kagi was admittedly worried about the wounded person, but turned aroundnwhenhe heard more gunshots. The cat things were being shot down by...another cat? The girl with cat ears was pumping lead into everyone of the things that came her way, and she seemed to be enjoying herself. After a while, she began dragging the injured kid to the gate, and didn't notice that one of the creatures making a mad dash towards her. Kagi rushed forward and screwered the minster on his halbered, stoppin, the beast inches before it could lay its claws on the girl

Zero slowly opened the gates ...

Wait. Let me rephrase that. The gate was programmed to move slow. "God dammit..." He muttered. It was a hassle to use.. "Come on!" Zero shouted

Jaxx looked at the kid. "Hang on kid!" He heard the monsters in the distance. "It's the final stretch!" He also thought of that girl ... How did she...

Kurami woke up rather late...no, very late.

"I need to stop getting up this late...its almost noon..." she complained.

She rather quickly got out of bed and grabbed her clothes and ran to the shower. She only took a little bit in there before she got out, put on her clothes, dried her hair, then ran downstairs.

"I'm going out this morning, will you guys alert my mother of that?" she asked the head maid.

The mead maid nodded before Kurami started running out the door.

"Be careful." they said before she was gone.

Kurami sighed, she was always careful, plus she always had her bow and arrow at the shop. The shop belonged to one of her friends uncles, who actually held onto valuables for people, and he held onto Kurami's bow and arrow.

Which of course, she was going to that shop.

Zero slowly opened the gates ...Wait. Let me rephrase that. The gate was programmed to move slow. "God dammit..." He muttered. It was a hassle to use.. "Come on!" Zero shoutedJaxx looked at the kid. "Hang on kid!" He heard the monsters in the distance. "It's the final stretch!" He also thought of that girl ... How did she...

"Goddammit" Edgar said while grabbing his sword. "I´m gonna help, Zero try to cover us from here." he said while getting down of the watch tower and crossing the gate outside. The creatures were like and horde, maybe 10 or 12. He saw then a girl dragging a young one (Oath and Cloaked), behind them two of the tiger like mosters. "You two look out!" Edgar shoted as he pulled out his sword running at them as fast as he could, then he did an horizontal slash at one of them, but not before being scratched by the other one.

"On it!" Zero fired some rounds at the other monsters, if only to halt their advancement "Come on gate..." He mumbled. "OPEN FASTER!"

The gate glowed green, and suddenly started to move faster...

The wave of monsters seemed to never end, or maybe it was just Kagi feeling exhausted in his cold. Just more monsters kept showing up, so did more people, someone new was helping the car eared girl, he was fighting off monsters with sword in hand. Kagi wanted to turn around and help the others get past the gate, but he heard something from the trees, but not from the ground. 4 of the creatures pounced from the tree tops, "These things climb now too?!"

With a fluid spinning motion, Kagi brought down two of the falling beasts using both ends of his haberd, but one them came down too fast and was immediately upon Kagi, who brought his arms up in reflex. Kagi was expecting to feel razor sharp Ciudad treating through his coat and ripping up his arms, but he never felt anything of the sort. He only felt that his arms were heavy, heavy and cold. Kagi opened his eye, having closed them in anticipation, and saw his arms were encased in a thick shell of ice. Kagi shoved the beast away and examined his arms, (whatever is causing this, but it certainty helps, now I don't need to worry about anything sharp from this things)

Jaxx and Zero stared at the ice wall

"Dude!" Jaxx said "Thats awesome! Keep that up!"

"At least I know why I was so cold before" Kagi said as he ripped out his arm lodged in the frozen sheild he apparently created, (I wonder.....) An idea formed in his mind, and thrust his hands against the icy wall, sending it carrening forward, effortlessly tossing the beasts aside

While he was wrapped up in his new powers, Kagi didn't notice one leap at him from behind, Kagi didn't have time to react and swung his arm at the monster, and moments before he made contact, Kagi's fist flash froze and became an icy knuckle, cracking the things skull as he smashed it into the dude of its face

Oliver finally made it to the gate, and saw a small group of people fighting a group of monsters while trying to get inside the town. As he watched them fight, he noticed one of them (Kagi) impale two monsters with his ice covered arms The same guy then proceeded to bash another monster's face in with his ice covered fist. [Well, this day just keeps getting weirder and weirder.] Oliver thought, and continued to watch, ready to help if they needed it.

As soon as Kurami stepped into the stop she sighed, there was a boy in there getting some pistols.

"Hello, Mr. Tsubomi." She said with a sigh.

That boy was not any boy, it was actually Kuro.

"I'm here for my bow and arrow, I am going to the range." Kurami said seriously, looking at Tsubomi.

"Oh, the in the West District? That place is dangerous, be careful there." The shopowner said, placing the bow in Kurami's hands and giving her the arrow pack.

"And here you go as well young man." Tsubomi said, handing the other guy his pistols.

Kurami was out the door in no time though.

"I kinda wish I could get to the shooting range faster..." She hopped.

She just thought of the place. West District, down an alley. Two targets. She closed her eyes and kept thinking. But a sudden rush went through her head. When she jerked open her eyes, she was there. West District. Down an alley. Two targets.

Joshua was now surrounded by people who would actually help him...at least for now. Maybe he'd be abandoned again when the monsters are gone. He appreciated it though, and didn't find the three to be untrustworthy. In fact, he knew one. He knew Sora. Granted, Sora didn't know Joshua, but Joshua's been around the town enough to know a few people. He just, of course, never spoke with them. It was his back that had been clawed, so he couldn't very well clench it to bare pain, but as he lied over other forms of life— of even mere grass, the faint glow of life practically flowed through him, his wounds began closing. The pain remained, but was going away as well....

Jaxx looked at the kid. "Umm... Kid?" He looked at his wounds healing..."that's some mad healing factor...." He picked up Joshua, and looked at sora. "You use those magic bullet skill of yours. I'll get to the gate!"

Nodding, Sora turned and opened fire again, the sound of one gunshot echoing as two pierced the monster. She kept retreating calmly, the cat-ear headband slightly bending to the wind around her. As one monster leaped it struck a solid object.

a shield of wind.

Sora breathed easy, firing still.

Joshua chuckled lightheartedly at Jaxx's remark, standing up with his help, but not really talking to him as he knew so few people— even if none of then knew him. He stood somewhat near Sora, killing the creatures from a distance. That was when he started examining the creatures themselves. "...They're just like...wild animals...." he pointed out, obviously. He had a plan, but needed everyone to know. Joshua, knowing he couldn't even be loud enough for anyone else to hear him, went to Sora. "...Do you...um...think you can tell everyone something for me...?"

"Sure kid," Jaxx said. "But no death stories, okay? You are getting fitter by the second kid, you still have a full life!" He slid under the moving gate, and stopped.

Sora pushed Joshua to safety and slid under the gate, she holstered her pistols.

"Are you ok?" She asked Joshua softly, looking him over. "Are you hurt badly?"

Joshua shook his head, "N-no...I mean--" He noticed his wounds were now completely mended. It didn't take long at all, "I mean, not anymore...I don't...really know how...but...." He shook his head again, trying to get his mind off of thinking about it, for now at least. He looked to both Sora and Jaxx, "I just...think I know how we can 'beat' these...things, I just need everyone to know. ...Can...you help me?"

"Alright..." Jaxx said. "What's the plan?" He got his spear at the ready, and gave his guitar to Joshua. "Can you hold that, kid?"

"Whoa!! How did I get here so fast?!" Kurami asked herself, looking around.

When she turned around to look behind her, that boy from the shop was there.

"Who are you?!" she yelled, drawing an arrow and putting it in her bow and aiming at the boy.

"Calm down...gosh...I got here just by walking...my name is Kuro." he introduced.

Kuro did not walk there, he ran. He had increased speed.

Kurami sighed, lowering her bow and arrow.

"I'm guessing you are here to target practice as well?" she asked.

Kuro nodded.

"These ARE new pistols...lets see how they work." he smirked.

Kuro suddenly point his gun at Kurami.

"You look like a nice little target..." he smirked.

Joshua held Jaxx's guitar, a bit surprised that he told him to hold it, much less listening to his plan. He hesitated a bit, and began looking for everyone without knowing much of their names, "Oh...um, it's actually really simple. I just need a few stronger people...." He mostly pointed to the people who were dealing with the creatures close-up, such as Jaxx himself, Edgar, and Oliver "...to round up all the monsters in one place. Then I need him...." Joshua pointed to Kagi, "Who can just freeze their legs together and to the ground. Then I need Sor-- um her," Joshua referred to Sora. He stopped himself from saying her name as that was a bit weird, but he only really knew her from her job, "Him...and there was another archer around her somewhere to shoot them all down while they're frozen." He pointed to Zero, then referred to Quint, not knowing where he was.
