Assassin's Creed Should Have Ended At AC3

Posted

Am I the only one who feels as though the Assassin's Creed series should have ended at AC3? I mean there's really not much else to add to the story since Ezio, Altair, and Desmond are all dead now. Especially since the Templars are gone now. I mean I guess since the ending of AC3 (which was crap btw)  hinted to Juno having somewhat of a bigger role in the plot they could just make new plotholes to explain what she intends to do. But other than that, there really isn't much else to add on Assassin's Creed. And besides the plot, I didn't find Conner to be as good of an assassin as Ezio or Altair. In the CGI trailer I thought that Conner would be almost as badass as Ezio/Altair but he was just not that great when I played the game. Same could be said for Hathem Kenway. I really don't understand him. He's an Assassin that's pretty much a Templar yet he kills and assassinated other templars as well? He's kind of a complicated character to me. And don't even get me started on AC4, the game just looks like Pirates of the Caribbean with Assassins added in it. I honestly think Ubisoft should have ended the entire series at AC3.

Did you actually play AC4 though? I've heard most fans love that game's story, and was much, much, much better than ACIII's.

AC4 is a pirate game that's why.

They loved it because pirates, not because it's AC

Tails. Please do NOT say that if you haven't played Assassin's Creed IV. Assassin's Creed IV is the best in my opinion. It is in no way, shape, or form like Pirates Of The Caribbean. No, Assassin's Creed IV is all about the true history of pirates, and is not mystical at all. The story follows Edward, the best one in the series.  In the game, you will later learn Juno's ultimate plan. Plus, the Assassin's are up to something- due to the findings of Desmond's friends being under cover. There is so much to be added to the story. And please, play Assassin's Creed IV. It will improve your life. No joke. The creators said they have an idea for a potential ending. Saying they will make around 1-2 more before the final ending.

No, Edward becomes an Assassin, and the entire plot revolves around the Templars VS the Assassin's in most of the game. During the game, Edward struggles between them, and serves as almost a third party. The games center plot is about that. And the ending REALLY focuses on the main plot of Juno.

Nope. The biggest reason I love the Assassin's Creed series is the historical tourism and seeing what an organization like that must go through for that long to stick around, as well as the different characters and their motivations. It's constantly staying fresh, yet never straying too far from what made it great in the first place. I hope it sticks around for a while longer.

Well i did play AC4 but I rented it this time instead of buying it. And while I do agree that the story was at least better than in AC3 I think that the series should have ended at 3 which would and should have been where everything ends. But that's just my opinion.

It couldn't have ended at 3. Ubisoft always planned to kill off Desmond before the final game, so it had to happen.
