For my English class I had to write an Ode on the Olympics (Which I chose figure skating as my topic) And I really hate poems because I can't rhyme for crap, and I really tried my best with this! My first poem attempt like ever (aside from one in 5th grade) I need honest opinion, and possibly some correction on errors on here that I can't find. Please enjoy! >///<-Ode to the Ice Fairy-
Oh, how it is wished that I, one who is so unworthy to see this tale,
could engrave this image deep within my heart,
before this fresh memory grows stale-
and I am forced to depart
The tales of these ice fairies, so fluid and free,
skating on the ice so cool to the touch.
Why this event just brings my heart to glee,
the perfection of these dances compare nonesuch.
The skates of these ice fairies are tools of art,
sewing their beauty into the ice, sending diamond dust into the sky-
winning the masses’ heart,
until the end draws nigh.
Oh, how the crowd’s breath hitches within their throats!

To see the dancer jump into the air,
eager for the crowd’s dotes,
hoping God has answered their prayer.
Oh, how the crowd goes wild!
The sound of cheers in the wind-
the dancer pulling through second to none
while the score is compiled-
the judges grin,
and victory is won.
