Is FINAL FANTASY XIII's Easy Mode similar to the changes made in the English version?

I'm trying to find out why the Easy Mode wasn't released outside of Japan.

This link kind of explains it. Apparently you can deal more damage to enemies when staggered and getting the Platnium should be easier too. It probably never got released over seas because USA gamers want challenges so releasing it here was out of the question. And honestly we don't need it cause the game is easy as enough.

Yeah, the game is easy. I just love consistency.

Seems right. No market for it then there's no point in wasting resources getting it released over here.

Besides FF is a japan game so it's not surprising that they got an easy mode.
