Can we discuss the ending for a second? Okay, the battle system in the game is great, what I am going to focus on is the story. First of all.... WHAT!? I mean I've played all 3 games and I'm confused! So the world is ending, I get that. But I didn't like the way the characters were introduced, I hated the side quests, I don't care about your problems! The only reason I'm helping you is so I can be stronger, I mean really! At the end of the game you make Earth, I'm assuming. Who cares? I actually want to see Lightning and the gang living on it! I mean what happens? Do they get there and Snow and Serah get married? Do they lose all of their powers? I mean, I'm so confused, I don't even know what to type. I'm a die hard Square fan, but this game was the worst game they ever made in the Story department. To me, the series should have ended at 13-2 with a happy ending, and everyone coming back together. But no, we have to milk the sequels as much as we can! This game seriously took up the time we could have used for making Final Fantasy 15 and Kingdom Hearts 3! What do you guys think? I mean honestly try to defend this game here, because now I'm mad I even bought it, and spent 30 hours of my life playing it!

Should have ended with the first XIII. That one already had a happy ending. Then XIII-2 came out and decided that the ending was different, and only Serah experienced the ending from the first XIII.

If they hadn't worked on the XIII series they would have worked on something else. They have nothing to do with either XV or KH3.

very true. even though i like 13-2's story it would have been better if they just stopped the series after 13

There was demand for a XIII-2, and Square Enix wanted to address the feedback of XIII which they did.

 

I personally love the trilogy. Square Enix have admitted that some people won't like it, but that's not going to stop them since there are plenty of people who do like them.
