Is there any library fan here?

Posted

Not nerd, I'm not nerd, I'm just humble person deeply attached to library these days. But I've been alone to read books for fun there, I want to talk with people feeling the same way about library here...

So is there any other library fan out there I can chat with? (Ancient books lover will be great, especially those published (or re-published) around 50-60, most of modern reference books sucks, I personally think)

Current book: Plato (Great books of the western world volume 7)

[originally I'm in economics but being attached to encyclopedia and philosophy lately]

Thanks

I haven't read to much... ancient stuff.

But libraries are the best thing available to mankind.

My last word. 8D

I've been deeply integrated into libraries since my birth... my mom has worked at one, and is still doing so. I volunteer every summer to get hours for scholarships, and for the sensation of being surrounded by books... with which I can fill my head of knowledge.

No, my friend A-wise...

You are not alone.

YEah! Coo-Ste you're always being my bestest friend! 8D yeah, that feeling is just awesome, isn't it? Like we are in the transition of dimension time and place we can go anywhere just by reading them, (another reason why I like ancient book, it passes through time)

What kind of book you like to read? 8DD

You're so lucky your mom works at one >_<

I wouldn't exactly call myself a library fan, but I do read a fair amount.

If you're looking for classic books, I at least know Lord of the Flies. Most people either love it for it's concept (or me, who loves it for the gore), or hate it because...it's pretty much a bunch of twelve year olds running around on a island nude. So have fun.

^ LOL xD actually I know nothing about Lord of the Flies...(only ever heard it once before) hmm I'm not a novel person at all, I even never finish eragon lent to me, or, let it alone, I can't even stand reading harry potter more than several chapters.

I dunno I'm much more passionate reading about real world maybe, fantasies are in my anime/manga/movie list (I'm shounen manga fan xD)

I don't go to the library a lot but i do read A LOT. I love fantasies and other books with like stories about life and stuff. What's really sad is that i read the whole Twilight series in a week, I read so much. (IM NOT A NERD! IT WAS SPRING BREAK AND I WAS BORED) so yeah! ^^

When I was young and spry I would go to the library almost every day during summer vacation. Partially because their internet was 50billiontimesfaster than my dial up, but also I loved to read. I was obsessed with R.L. Stein and I read almost all of his books.

I love libraries but without a ride, I can never go to the public library when I want. My parents are usually too lazy to drive me. So when I'm school I usually spend my free time in the library, unless I had choir practice. It was usually empty so it was very, comforting for me at the time because I wasn't the type to be around alot of people at the time (right now I am though xD)

My favorite book has to be one called So B. It. Possibly the saddest thing I've ever read. Makes me cry everytime.

^So am I ^^ not that I like to be alone, but 1-2 people and they read books in library comforts me.

Oh man I'm knowledge-less about novels T_T since my library is campus library and there's literally no novel there. But I think our number now is enough to make open discussion about books ^_^ tell about R.L. Stein books and So B. It to me, what are they and why do you like them so much?
