Somewhere off the coast of Japan, there is an island. The islands was named Oni.

Almost nobody goes to that island because of the horror stories surrounding it.

Little did anyone know, those horror stories were true.

Groups of children and teens go missing ever so often, and are said to go to Oni.

They go with help from Oni's Queen, Azumi.

Azumi easily tricks anyone into going to Oni.

On Oni, each of the children are assigned someone called a Holder.

These "Holders" help children accept their seven sins.

The sins of these children are represented by red butterflies that are tied to a strong, almost transparent red collar.

These strings are tied loosely to the child's neck.

If all the butterflies are not killed within seven days, the strings end up strangling the child, killing him or her.

As the children rid of the butterflies, the string fades away, and the children slowly become insane.

Once all the strings are gone, the children are completely insane.

They kill their Holder, and take their mask, which is the only way for them to be semi-sane again.

When they wear their Holders Mask, which is usually a wolf, dog, cat, or demon mask...they are accepted in Oni to live freely.

Soon enough, every child becomes a holder...

Eventually.

They were on a boat, floating somewhere, all seven of them. Where however? Who had brought them into the boat? Why is it moving on its own? All Yukiko could remember was seeing a beautiful woman who helped them get on the boat. However, the woman looked rather frightening.

The island could be seen in the distance, faint lights were lit and a eight people were standing on the horizon.

The got closer and closer to the island, and soon enough the seven landed.

"Welcome to Oni everyone." the similar voice said with a slight smile.

"I am Azumi." she introduced.

Yukiko fell silent, this woman was too beautiful, she was rather jealous.

"You all will be chosen by one of these lovely men and women, only to help you out with something very important." Azumi said with a smirk.

Harusuke slowly took in his surroundings. The girl beside him was rather cute, getting a good look at her. He followed this girl's gaze to the one called Azumi and... holy smokes. She was hot. Haru looked around to see that there were others in the boat along with him and the cute girl. He counted five others. He looked to the masked figures. Seven. One for each of them. Haru stood, flipping his hair out of his face. "And what might something be, pretty lady?" He asked.

Amour giggled behind her mask.

Emilio yawned, stretching his body. Amazing that he got sleep in such a long time... Strange that it should be the day he should be kidnapped. "Has a plan for everything..." He mumbled to himself, looking up. To his right, he saw the girl, Elizabeth... So young...

There only seemed to be teens and children here... Where were the parents?

His head ached. Ise grunted, lifting a hand to his face.

What had happened? He remembered being called--and meeting some golden lady, along with six others kids around his age. It took a bit of resistance to avoid 'checking their pockets', as he felt that the lady....gave off more than she showed. Something about her told Ise that she could see things beyond his imagination.

So now here they were. On some lost island, surrounded by this 'Azumi' chick, along with seven other masked figures. Seven Masked Ones, and seven teens. Ise grumbled, feeling the first pangs of regret. He shouldn't have stayed out so late...

Noah was silent. He analyzed the environment, the others of his age, the masked figures and most especially— Azumi. His eyes dragged down wearily, but it didn't stop him from constantly thinking. He looked to the smallest of the masked figures. Joshua seemed just as tired, and incredibly young. His blue eyes shone through the black sockets of his mask, with sand slowly shifting and pouring without end. He looked as though he was trying to rest his head against Amour, but at the same time, tried to stop himself from it. His worn eyes darkened in their blue hue, and sagged down, but he looked to Noah as well.

"You will all be taught how to Hold, and Release." Azumi said seriously, looking at all of the children.

"These seven are what I call 'Holders'. One of them will be assigned to you." She said seriously, looking at her seven companions.

"Go on, you seven. You know what you must do." Azumi said seriously.

The seven Holders approached the children, and Azumi turned away from them.

"You guys will not be seeing me again until the next boat arrives. The next boat arrives next week, and I wish all of you guys luck." Azumi said before walking off.

Yukiko looked at her holder, he was rather frightening.

"Hello, Ms. Yukiko. I am Akuma." He introduced.

At that second, all the seven children had strings tied loosely around their necks, butterflies tied to the strings.

"If you don't get those butterflies away, they are going to kill you." Akuma said to Yukiko, looking at her sharply.

Emilio looked at the butterflies, but was taken aback by the Mask getting put on. The girl who put it on seemed not to care about what these 'consequences' were, as she niether confirmed nor denied his suspicions. An island with such wired and obscure rules... Learning to hold... To release...

Amour giggled as she approached her prospect. "Hello, Haru..." She whispered into his ear. "See that butterfly over there?"

"What of it?" The boy managed to ask. He was losing himself in the Holder's voice. What exactly was she?

Amour giggled again. "Oh nothing. Just... you might want to take care of it. It's going to kill you."

Harusuke pullled on the thread around his neck and pulled the butterfly toward him. It was a truly beautiful, unnatural creature. He looked to the cute girl near him. Yukiki, her name was? "Hey, you think these things can really kill us?" He asked.

Akuma was busy talking to Yukiko, she was also very interested in what he was saying.

"These threads will tighten everyday, and if you don't kill the butterflies before the last day, you are strangled to death." Akuma said seriously.

Yukiko nodded, then looking to Haru.

"If you would like to be strangeled to death, then yes they are deadly." Yukiko said seriously.

This boy seemed rather over confident. Why couldn't she be like that?

Harusuke smirked. He pulled the string further, just barely touching the deadly butterfly. "That really shouldn't be too hard." He hesitated. "It's just so pretty though...""For me Haru?" Amour said quietly.

As if under a foreign influence, Haru made his move, crushing the butterfly in his hand. "That wasn't too hard." He commented.

A tall, thin man casually walked towards Ise. He swallowed, getting into an offensive stance, watching the masked man approach him.

 

"Hello. You must be Ise." The man said, his voice something soft and warm, befitting a gentle man. However, Ise could tell that something dark was cloaked in that voice. This man...was something else. Just like the woman who brought them here, Ise found himself almost terrified of this man. The golden demon mask, crisp uniform, and polite gestures all collided in something that made Ise's hair stand on end every time the man spoke.

"Wh-what's it to you..?" Ise asked, watching as the man chuckled.

 

"You must know by now that the butterfly that is tied to you is the link to your death. You have only few days to kill it before....well, let us leave what happens after that to the imagination. By the way, you may call me...Lucifer." The man named Lucifer said, giving a short bow.

 

Lucifer? That was the mans name? Just who was he? Ise wondered that, trying to figure out why anyone would name themselves after the devil.

Reni was already leaning against the nearest tree. A young woman in a kind of creepy cat mask walked up to him. Reni looked her up and down. Tallish, blue hair, good style, nice athletic body. "How about ya take that mask off so we can get a better look at that nice face of yours?" Reni said in his usual cocky nature. The woman giggled knowingly, but she offered her hand to him.

"My name is Muzet. I'm supposed to help you through this." Muzet introduced herself. Reni scoffed at the offered hand, and kept his arms crossed across his chest. He was much too good for a handshake.

"Great. So tell me how this ridiculous game works so I can start winning." The boy said plainly, a competitive grin beginning to form.

"Oh, but this is much more than just a game. This is all about owning up to your sins, and becoming a better person..."

"Pssh. That's it? I have this in the bag." Reni barely finished his sentence before another butterfly cropped up, tied to his neck. Muzet gave that silly little grin again.

"Really? Those butterflies are your sins. So in order to win, as you put it, you have to eliminate all of them. And y'know, stop making more." Muzet slipped in a little jab at the teenager at the end. Reni fumed. He grabbed a butterfly in his hand, and crushed it's wings.

"There. I told you I would be the best at this." As Reni let go of the corpse in his hand, it resurrected due to his most recent sin of pride, and floated back up to it's original position. Muzet's laugh echoed through the island

Emolio felt the skull mask on his face. It had ridges and cuts... It definetly had seen its share of battles. But why would a little girl have such a thing on her possession...

 

He looked at the growling boy. "Pride...." He muttered. "There are 7 of us... And if what the child says is true.... Then..." He shook his head in disbelief. "The deadly sins...."

(I want at least someone to get strangled to death in this roleplay, so someone should not crush all of their butterflies yet, or they should just keep one around their neck and make that one kill them. 

I would like someone to be stupid and just kill all of their butterflies without thinking. 

Don't rush the possess! Also, please clarify what butterfly you crush.)

 

"Hold and Release, Yukiko." Akuma said, looking at her.

"Hold..." Yukiko muttered.

He brought his hand up, and Yukiko did as well, they both reached for the butterfly of Sloth, and both crushed it at the same time.

"Release." Akuma finished.

"It's simple." Yukiko said with a smile, looking at Akuma and smiling. 

The string of sloth slowly fell from her neck, and the butterfly dissolved.

"Now, I will lead you to my house where you will stay in Oni." Akuma said with a smile.

 

(All Holders need to escort the Releaser's (children) into their houses, which is where they are going to stay in Oni.) 

Dagon stumbled out of the boat and walked to where the others we're and looked down at his holder, though Dagon was a teenager, he was tall for his age."Sorry..." Dagon said to everyone, and to his holder. "I didn't wake till just now..." he continued as he studied the girl in front of him. She was almost his height, about 3-4 inches shorter than him. he noticed as she gazed up at him, and Dagon quickly looked at the ground, and fixed his trench coat, although it seemed as if he we're trying to avoid the other children's eyes. But he then looked at them, taking his time to study each and every one of them, along with there holders. Dagon kept his mouth shut, he never was a talker, and probably never will be. He then looked back at the girl in front of him, as mysterious as she looked, Dagon felt oddly attracted to her. 

(So... Our mission: kill butterflies. Was Yuffie correct in the fact that the butterflies grow back if their personified sin is repeated?)

 

Amour smiled from behind her mask. "Why don't you come with me, Haru?" She asked.

Harusuke smirked. "I don't see why not."

The Holder took her boy's hand and guided him into the forest. "Hold and Release..." She muttered. "You did quite well, little Haru."

The Releaser smiled. "So... where exactly are we going?""You'll be with me the next seven days, Haru, you'll need a place to stay."

Approaching Noah, Joshua practically fell against his shoulder, clenching his hand loosely. "You're...probably going to die...." He whispered a bit darkly. Noah had already heard everything the other masked figures told their respective people...and Joshua seemed to know as well. Too tired to repeat the same things. "You know what you're supposed to do...." He whispered again, lazily moving back and trying to pull Noah with him, somewhere else. "..." Noah remained silent, but followed.

(She is very correct, yes.) Yukiko was lead to a rather old looking Japanese style home in the outskirts of a city. There were many other people with mask running around, some of them children. In the center of the town, there was something that could scare anyone. There was an entrance to a shrine in the middle of the street, but instead of a shrine behind the entrance, there was a rather large tree with ropes ready to hang anyone attached to the branches. "What is that?" Yukiko asked.Akuma was silent for a second, starting at the tree. "What happens if you don't release those butterflies." He said with a slight smile, opening the door to the house."The tree is visible everywhere you go, so don't freak out. Your room is on the top floor by the way, everything is ready for you. Now goodnight, Yukiko." He said seriously, closing the door behind the two. Yukiko nodded slightly, heading upstairs.

"Come, nightfall is coming soon" the masked woman said with a turn, facing the opposite way of Dagon. "o-ok" he replied looking at everyone else before leaving, they started walking towards the jungle, and before they disappeared out of complete sight, Dagon gave a wave to them before being covered by the dense green jungle of Oni.

After a long walk they came up to a river and Lucian stopped walking forward and turned, walking towards the current of the water, and began walking again. Dagon chuckled to himself and kept following her, as if he were her slave. After a bit more Dagon saw a beautiful waterfall, and as they came closer, he noticed a house built onto the water. She walked into the house, it was a decent size for Dagon. "Come, i will show you to your room" she said and walked down a creepy, dark corridor, Dagon hesitated, but then followed, she opened the door to a room with a bed, nightstand, dresser, and bathroom beside it. "Enjoy your stay..." she said in an eerie voice then pushed me into the room and locked it behind me. Dagon tryed the door, "locked..." he said to himself and sat on the bed.

(HUMANS YOU NEED TO POST ON THIS) 

(I'm sorry! I'll post here.)"Come with me." Lucifer said, his voice holding a tinge of amusement. The man quickly turned around, took a moment to touch his mask, and then began to walk. Ise grumbled, but followed behind. The other 'Holder's' were doing the same with the other kids--which meant there was some sort of system here. Lucifer seemed to be familiar with this. Far too familiar.

 

"Where are we going?" Ise asked, moving a bit so he can get a better look at Lucifer's masked face.

 

"Sadly, not a place where they kill those with stupid questions." Lucifer answered. For the remainder of their walk, Ise was silent.

 

"Here." Lucifer finally said, standing aside before a rather large, and surprisingly clean looking home. Ise had assumed the entire island was a haunted ruin. But no, it seemed like there was an undocumented civilization here. Lucifer cleared his throat--a sound that immediately snapped Ise out of his thoughts.

"This will be your home, Ise. Sleep well, and certainly do not let the voices of the damned wake you from your sleep."
