Kingdom Hearts: Fade into Light (Roleplay Thread)

Radiant Garden

Keyblade Academy

Indy made his way through the academy halls, glancing around at the rooms he passed by. I was told to meet with a teacher in the Gummi hangar... They said that there would be other students, too. What's so urgent that they'd call a few of us there? Is there something going on in other worlds...? Maybe they even have a mission for us... I've always wanted the opportunity to leave Radiant Garden, anyway... He thought to himself as he moved along, pondering what it is that he was ordered to meet there for.

He eventually reached the room, noticing that it was empty. "Hm... Well, I did try to get here early, anyway." He muttered, leaning against a wall. He appeared calm, but his mind was racing. Will I get to visit other worlds? Who else will I be with? Will I have a chance to see Allitt again...? He drifted into deep thought, not taking notice of his surroundings...

(And yes, the other students all received the orders, too.)

Gaku stopped as soon as the others stopped in front of the cave. Indy calls out the others to assure if they are ready for the fight. Gaku nodded. "Just don't screw up."

Gaku scanned ahead. He hears a great amount of static and flinches. "Yep. There is something down there, and it does not sound very good."

Joel walked up next to Gaku. "Well, if there's something that doesn't sound very good, we'll just have to either fix it or remove it altogether." He rested his Keyblade over his shoulder and turned his head to look at his teammates all standing together.

Seeing the arrival of Ghost, Joel, and the odd teacher who threw keyblades in the empty land, Gaku decided to be blunt and explain the situation to the newcomers. "I'm not repeating this again so listen up! We came in contact with the organization, fought for a bit, and they disappeared. We had no idea where they went until Indy mentions the location of the Organization out of nowhere due to the powers of the Player Pin which I possess. They are supposedly located in the cave. I believe this is a trap, but so far, it's our only lead, and I can't locate them because they possess the Pin. I can hear static, but it's in the broader region which I can't pinpoint, so we decided to head for the cave for now."

Following behind Joel, Annistha helped finish off the Dusks Joel trapped in the Gravity spells.

"Well, that worked." She said, grinning.

With Zale's superior speed, he kept up with Ghost and Joel to catch up with the other students. He sniffed the air, trying to catch a scent.

Indy and Allitt chased the others as they went towards the cave, following the trail of the mysterious girl who had vanished. "Hey, Allitt... You were once with them. Do you know who that girl was?" Indy asked, trying to get some conversation going. He could tell Allitt was still tense from the encounter.

"Yeah... I know her." Allitt muttered. "She's the mage of the organization. She'll probably have more Nobodies waiting for us at the cave..." She explained, but didn't give every detail possible.

"Alright... Got it." Indy nodded.

Eventually, the group made it to the entrance of the cave. "Well, looks like I was right. There really is a cave here..." Indy muttered. "So, everyone ready?"

Resting both his gunblade and Keyblade on his shoulders, Zale nodded to Indy's question.

"We're always ready." He said confidently.

~*Inside The Nexus*~

Standing in their own sections of the co-joined Stations of Heart, Zale and Annistha both looked a little sour.

"Does this scream trap to you?" Annistha asked.

"Yep." Zale answered.

"I thought so."

Annistha sighed, then shrugged.

"I guess we just gotta go in and break the trap."

Zale grinned.

[Land of Dragons. Near a cave somewhere.]

After hearing Gaku's report, Ghost quietly nodded and followed the rest of the students towards the cave that Indy led them all to. Not really useful that this guy has mind reading capabilities, and yet can't seem to pinpoint our next targets. But I'm sure he can pick us all out just fine... A wide grin formed on the student's face as the dark humor sunk in. He'd be the perfect traitor! Obvious... but perfect!

His little ray of sunshine and happiness was quickly snuffed out when he was brought back to reality. Most of the students had their weapons at the ready, waiting for everyone else to give the all clear before charging their way in. Knowing that caves were notorious for hideaway areas, no visibility, little maneuvering space, and advantageous to those already set up in the place, the student sighed heavily and quickly brought fourth his arrow-rifle that was slung across his back and shouldered it securely into his arms. "Well... I'm ready." he piped up, waiting for one of them to lead the spelunking expedition. Asymmetrical close quarters combat in a dark place, huh? Perfect. Maybe I can redeem myself and earn my rights to the sigil if I can do a solid job here. Right on cue, a small green light on his wrist mounted tactpad blinked three times as a flow of text started to appear on the small blue screen.

Meanwhile, up above...

Entertaining himself by droning a low, monotonous hum while being massaged by the recently-discovered-uber-luxurious-feature-heavy pilot seat, Instructor Striker still managed to watch the video feed from the onboard high-powered optical camera and monitored the student's activities below. At least, he was until he felt a sharp, chilling pain shoot across his head, followed quickly by a warm, metallic smell filling up his sense of smell. Immediately, the instructor reached for a pouch on his armor and popped in two more pills, downing it with some of the coconut juice he was sipping not too long ago. "Dammit. Hurry it up, Ghost." the instructor growled while establishing a live-feed connection with a camera built-in to his student's armor so he could watch his progress, "I'm already working on borrowed time. I don't know how much longer I can hold out..." The slight echoes of his buddies in the past faintly resonated within the instructor's head before finally being silenced by the medications.

"Get up! C'mon, you gotta get back up!"

"Th-the initiative... Striker... Execute... Legacy..."

"They're too strong! Get out now! I'll hold them off for as long as I can!"

Raidyn / Toshi

"Of course I'm ready! No need to ask!" Raidyn said exhurberently. "I mean, I might need to take it easier with myself now, but I'm still gonna go in swingin'." Raidyn assured his best friend, putting his hands behind his head.

"I'm ready too," Toshi responded. "Lead the way Indy." I don't want to make myself look bad in front of the others. Not now.

Lucas nodded aswell after hearing everyone and he walked up to Indy. "So...You really think we can take out that Mage chick, if we end up finding her in the cave?"

"We don't have much of a choice, do we?" Indy asked Lucas. "I'm sure we'll be fine, anyway. We win in numbers, and her Nobodies won't stand a chance." He reassured his teammate, then began to walk into the cave. "Alright then, everyone... Let's go!" He entered the cave, followed by his far less enthusiastic sister.

As the students progressed through the cave, they eventually came across a large area that appeared to have been carved in by humans. The cave ended here, with a few dim torches keeping the room lit. "Looks like this is as far as we go..." Indy muttered, glancing around the room. He couldn't seem to spot the enemy.

"You're right. This is it for you." The voice from earlier echoed off the walls. Suddenly, a mob of Sorcerer Nobodies filled the space behind the students.

"Should have expected them to ambush us from behind..." Indy growled, and summoned his Keyblade. "Get out here and fight us yourself, coward!" He shouted, and slashed at one of the Nobodies.

"You're not going to get anywhere stirring up the common folk like that." Brooklyn mutterd, chuckling a little, he Bevan to throw and return his keyblade to himself, killing Sorcerers as he lined them up in his shot.

Raidyn / Toshi

"Whoop. Looks like we got ourselves another throwdown!" Raidyn said, summoning Shockwave. "Hey Toshi, I got an idea. Come with me and we'll sniff out this guy who keeps getting away."

"O-okay, Raidyn," Toshi agreed.

And so, Raidyn and Toshi worked as a team to slice through the waves of Nobodies in front of them. "You guys'll be fine without us! Work together, alright?!" Raidyn called as he and Toshi came together and performed a double Zantetsuken on a few Socerors in their way, taking them all out with their single hits. From then on, they both continued to move and fight forward.

Gaku saw it coming. They are now trapped by the Sorcerers. "Hmph. Always making your underlings do the dirty work." Gaku engulfed his hands once again. Knowing that the Nobodies are a little more stronger, he manipulated the Ruin to form a form of a sword that engulfs his lower arms, and slashed two of the Nobodies down.

As he continued to fight the others, he heard Raidyn talk about stalking the member. 'I probably should follow them. If I encounter the member, I can attack the member and continue to do so until I get the answers to why he or she has the Pin.' Gaku slashed the next set of Sorcerers that were going to perform a stealth attack on Raidyn and Toshi. "If you gonna go look for the member, I want in. I need some answers from them."

Indy sighed as Raidyn, Toshi, and Gaku ran off. "Here, I'll round out your group..." He sighed. "Everyone else, stay here. We'll lure her out here to even the odds." He ordered, and chased after Raidyn and the others.

"Got it..." Allitt shook her head, and summoned her Keyblade. "I've got to take this seriously." She looked towards the students. "I'm sure most of you know this already, but watch out for their cubes! They'll use them either to attack, or for defense." She advised, and jumped over the magic attack of one of the Nobodies. She thrust her Keyblade down through its head, and it evaporated into a gray mist.

[Land of Dragons. Somewhere in a cave.]

Ghost took a deep breath and quietly followed the group of students into the cave. Remembering his training with the instructor, the student made sure to keep his eyelids shut just a little longer than normal so his eyes could adjust faster to the quickly deteriorating light conditions. It quickly paid off as the student noticed the glow of the distant torches earlier than his peers and was able to discern more details about his immediate surrounding with the limited source of light when everyone got close.

"Looks like this is as far as we go..." Ghost heard Indy muttered.

"You're right. This is it for you."

As the group was swarmed by nobodies, Ghost was one of the first to react as he quick-shotted a spawning nobody. The flash of his arrow-rifle going off illuminated the whole room enough for the Sentinel-in-training to spot everyone, and for a split second, spot the source of the voice out of the corner of his eye. But with his immediate focus being to survive the ambush, he quickly whirled around and pulled the trigger again, aiming for another nobody. Sending yet another bolt, the flash was bright and long enough for Ghost to make a visual imprint of his surrounding, and brought him one step closer to pinpointing the adversary. I gotta hand it to Striker. I absolutely hated 'Sensory Deprivation Combat Training.' "It'll be useful," he said. "You never know when you will need it," he said. "Always be prepared," he said. I hate it when he's right...

Meanwhile, outside the cave in the skies above...

Instructor Striker was watching the live battle-feed from Ghost's camera that was built into his armor. The ambush came as no surprise for the instructor who has seen his share of battles, but did admit that it was a very smart move for their targets. Not wanting their next target to escape, the instructor kept the side-mounted cannon aboard his gummi ship active and trained the targeting reticule near the cave entrance.

She thrust her Keyblade down through its head, and it evaporated into a gray mist.

Cubes began to fly around Brooklyn in an adsult-like pattern. Brooklyn smirkrd, gave off a small chuckle, and went in to counter. First set of cubes headed at him from behind, but he back flipped over them and grabbed the tail end of one of the cubes as it tried to return to its master, only for its master to be run through a moment later. Next two sets circling him. After a rolling/flipping dodge move, Brooklyn kicked one of the Sorcerers in the head, cleaved through its body, then elbow checked the other in the chest and ripped the teeth of his weapon through it right afterwards.

Indy sighed as Raidyn, Toshi, and Gaku ran off. "Here, I'll round out your group..." He sighed. "Everyone else, stay here. We'll lure her out here to even the odds." He ordered, and chased after Raidyn and the others.

Lucas quickly threw his keyblade at the Nobodies and re-summoned it after hitting a few. He looked over to his side and saw 2 Cubes coming towards him, and ducked and held up his keyblade so one of them ended up running right through it with how fast it was moving and splitting in half. The second one came at him from behind and hit Lucas in the leg, causing him to wince, but quickly responded in kind by firing a Blizzard spell at it and freezing it.

He then turned to Alitt and yelled, "How long do you think we have to keep this up before she faces us? The 5 of us can't hold off these things forever."

Raidyn / Toshi

The two Keyblade wielders continued to fight their way across the hordes.

"Man, this girl needs to show up already!" Raidyn said. "I wanna fight he one on one. After sparring with Mulan, I'd rather get a real fight right about now."

"You might not want to do that, Raidyn." Toshi countered. "We don't know anything about this Organization member."

"What are you talking about? I can take her!"

"But Raidyn--"

"Hey hey, don't worry yourself. Just let me have my spotlight and things'll be just dandy," Raidyn assured, even though he was ignoring the fact that he had almost exhausted himself earlier with his Flash Dash antics.

Toshi bit her lip; she could see through him like he was made out of clear plastic. but she couldn't find it in herself to try to convince Raidyn even more.

Indy

"We might not know anything about her, but we have someone with us who does." Indy replied to Toshi, obviously referring to his sister. "Either way, we've still got more people. These Nobodies are nothing to us." He tried to stay optimistic, despite being worried himself.

"Straying off from the rest, are you?" The girl's voice echoed again, directed towards the four students who went off on their own. "You must really want to lose, if you're so desperate to fight me..."

"You'll be the one losing here." Indy sounded more confident than usual, trying to intimidate their opponent. "It's four against one."

"You're right... However, I wouldn't say that you've won already. If you're all so desperate to fight me, then fine." The cloaked figure from earlier stepped out of what had appeared to be a hidden passage that the group missed on the way into the cave. She removed her hood, revealing a fairly young face, with red hair reaching down to her back. She summoned a Keyblade that was pure white, with a medium length and sharp teeth. There was a blue orb at the end of the blade. "I hope you're ready." She glared at the four.

Indy was fazed for a moment, but quickly recovered. He leaned over to Raidyn, and whispered to him. "Remember, our goal is just to lure her out towards everyone else. Don't do anything stupid right now." He reminded his friend.

Allitt

"They'll get her out here soon enough. We can handle the small fry." Allitt answered Lucas, with a hint of anger still in her voice. She cut through another Nobody's head, and shot her own Blizzard spell at another. "We'll want to clear as many of these out before she gets here, anyway. She'll use the Nobodies to her advantage."

Gaku followed the group as they looked for the member. He then heard a voice.

"Straying off from the rest, are you?" The girl's voice echoed again, directed towards the four students who went off on their own. "You must really want to lose, if you're so desperate to fight me..."

He saw the member appear from a hidden passage. 'Huh, probably should have checked the walls while I was in here.' The face of the member has been revealed. "Seeing that you were hiding behind the walls, it was pretty obvious that you were hiding away from the group. Hmph. Wuss."

The member drew out her Keyblade. "I hope you're ready." She glared. Gaku engulfed his arms into swords like before and dashed towards the member to land a few strikes. He managed to get her in deadlock with said weapons clashed together in attempt to parry the opposite.

"So. Mind telling me how and why you got the Player Pin? Only two people are allowed to wield it outside of it's original world."

Raidyn / Toshi

"Oh don't worry, I'll lure her out... by kicking her butt!" Raidyn said back, not even trying to whisper as he ran towards the girl and Gaku.

"Alright, Red, its just you and me! Sorry Headphones, but I'm cutting in!" Raidyn then jumped in the air, over the girl and Gaku's head, and swung his Keyblade in a furious side blow that hit the girl's ribs and sent her flying to the right. "Let me handle her. I've been waiting for this," Raidyn said, running towards the spot where the girl landed.

"Raidyn! W-what are you doing?!" Toshi cried.

Indy

The girl grunted in pain as Raidyn knocked her away. She stood up, holding her Keyblade in the air. "Curaga!" She shouted, and began to glow green. Her injuries were quickly healed. "Really? Trying to take me on by yourself? So much for your friend's talk about me being outnumbered..." She held her Keyblade towards Raidyn. "Firaga!" Her cry echoed off the walls, and a fireball shot at the energetic teenager.

"You idiot!" Indy shouted. "Toshi, Gaku, come on. We've got to back him up." He told the two, and ran off towards Raidyn.

Raidyn / Toshi

Raidyn knocked the Firaga blast right back in the opposite direction. He then turned to his teammates behind him and wagged his finger.

"Uh uh ah. This is between me and Red here. You guys relax and let me handle it." Raidyn said. "In fact. Toshi..."

"W-what is it, Raidyn?" Toshi asked.

"Use your barrier spell. I want to make sure Indy and Gaku stay put for this,' Raidyn said, turning back to the girl in the cloak.

"But... I..." Toshi said, gripping the handle of Protector tightly. "I can't do that! We have to help you!"

"Toshi... I already said I wanted the spotlight. And I'm gonna get it this time. No interference, no holds barred. This is my time. My time to prove just how far I've come." Raidyn said softly, mostly to himself.

He thought back to all the times before when Allit had beaten him, and how humiliated he felt when everybody started treating him like a joke. Like a clown that always made himself look stupid for the sake of others enjoyment. Allit... you may be on the fence right now... but I don't want to slip up. We still need to have one more fight together. And I'm gonna make sure I'm ready for it. Raidyn ceased his thoughts as he once again got into a battle stance, now wearing a firm and almost angry expression on his face as he stared down the Organization member.

Toshi stood still for a moment... and lifted Protector into the air. "Light Barrier!" Toshi called, casting an invisible shield between herself and Raidyn and the girl before her. "I'm... I'm sorry." Toshi said, directing it at Indy and Gaku behind her.

"What?!" Indy shouted, angered at Raidyn and Toshi. "Are you trying to get killed?! There's no way you can do this alone!" He hit the barrier with his Keyblade, trying to break in.

The girl gave Raidyn a puzzled look. "You're serious about this? You academy students are even more stupid than I thought." She sighed. "If you're really this set on losing, i guess I won't stop you..." She held her Keyblade up to the air. "Thundaga!" Bolts of lightning rained down around Raidyn, some managing to strike him. "I'll go easy for now, though. I don't want to hit you too hard."

[Within a cave]

Bolt after bolt was sent careening towards the enemies Ghost was targeting. Every flash from his arrow-rifle illuminated his surrounding better than the nearby torches for a split second before going dim again. With most of the students taking the brunt of the ambush, Ghost set his sights on finding the main target as quickly as possible. Unfortunately for him, it was only when the cloaked individual revealed herself did he finally managed to spot her.

"Seeing that you were hiding behind the walls, it was pretty obvious that you were hiding away from the group. Hmph. Wuss." he heard Gaku remark.

"Why didn't you put your mind reading skills to find them sooner?!" Ghost yelled back, furious that this whole ordeal could have been avoided, "Whose side are you on?!"

Overhearing the exchange between Raidyn wanting to take the girl head on and telling Toshi to keep the others out of the fight, Ghost actually decided to wait and see how long the student would last alone in a fight against the girl. Staying in the dark and reloading his rifle with a flick of his wrist, he leveled the weapon towards the girl. Aiming for her shoulder for a non-lethal hit, Ghost held short of pulling the trigger; he really wanted to see Raidyn horribly beaten to reinforce the fact that going against these people would be survivable if it was a team effort. I'm obliged to defend those I choose to protect. Fortunately, it's not this guy.

Gaku leaped out of the way in time to allow Raidyn to strike the girl. "Dammit Raidyn!" Gaku yelled in annoyance. Gaku gets ready to leap at the girl when Raidyn stopped Indy and Gaku from backing him up. A light barrier then formed by Toshi. After hearing his monologue, Gaku removed his Ruined Swords, and decided not to do anything.

Gaku noticed Indy trying to break the barrier. "Hey! Forget about him. He's not gonna bother listening to you. From what I've seen today, once he sets his mind into it, he won't stop till it's done. Don't waste your energy, and instead focus on the attacks she's performing. Find the weakness."

[Within a cave]

Bolt after bolt was sent careening towards the enemies Ghost was targeting. Every flash from his arrow-rifle illuminated his surrounding better than the nearby torches for a split second before going dim again. Gaku heard Ghost and was angered to hear that he didn't not heard what Gaku said earlier. "Damn it! Were you not listening to me when I filled in this information to you,  Joel and the teacher!? I stated that I can't locate her because she has the Player Pin. People holding the Player Pins can not scan the other person holding the Pin! If we come in contact with Master Sora, I'm reporting to him about your behavior towards me! You're starting to get on my nerves!"

Zion was entering the cave, when Rei finally decided she was done being tired. Stepping from Ghost, she closed her eyes and held out her hand. Her beautiful yet deadly Keyblade flashed to life, and her body was outlined with a white glow. She opened her eyes, the blue ringed with gold.

"Stand back Pancakes."

The girl suddenly was off. After images left behind, she was darting around the battlefield at an insane pace, blade aglow. She had no wings like her mother, and soon enough she stopped. With an exagerated back sheath gesture...the Nobodies broke apart and disappeared.

"Mommy! I did it like you told me!"

Zion could only blink.

[Within a cave somewhere.]

Ghost raised an eyebrow as he heard Gaku defending his actions. "If you can't locate her because she has a player pin, now the question here is: How do you know she has one in the first place? The only way for you to know is if you read her mind first to confirm that." Seeing that Toshi has raised a barrier shield between everyone and Raidyn and the cloaked girl, Ghost calmly reached for his earpiece. "Ghost to Striker. Toshi has raised a barrier to give Raidyn a one on one fight with the target. Please advise."

Meanwhile... up above in the skies.

Instructor Striker heard his student's question. "Hold steady." he calmly replied via radio, "Let it happen. I'll leave it up to you to decide when to intervene again." The student's actions were distressing to the instructor, but disregarded it for now. Why are you doing this, Toshi? It just doesn't seem right.

Back on the ground.

Ghost was rather surprised at what Rei accomplished to the rest of the nobodies. Nodding quietly in approval, the student could only stand back and watch the fight between Raidyn and their targets.
