Just Finished FFX (properly) for the very first time!

Posted

I have marathoned FFVIII, FFVII FFVI, FFV and just 2 hours ago have finished FFX (properly for my very first time). Before then I watched my brother play it on the PS2 a few years ago but he got up to Mt Gagazet and never finished it so I ended up watching the rest on youtube.

I get so many feels from the game (and Yuna's theme makes me tear up like there's no tomorrow). They don't make FF games like they used to anymore which is a shame. So many themes are shared in this game such as relationships between lovers, between parent/child, the issue of discrimination (as much as I find Wakka useful in battle, his attitude towards Rikku is really uncalled for) and much much more.

One can only imagine the thoughts going through Tidus's mind when he works out he'll disappear, or when he confronts Jecht - his own father whom he's not seen in the last 10 years. And then theres Yuna...being able to smile while taking on the responsibility of a summoner and knowing she'll die.

Then theres that scene with Seymour...gawd I hate his guts - "By all means, try! You should thank me! Your death means your father's life!"...he has a serious Messiah complex...I think he has some form of schizophrenia

Oh and then there was Yuna's sphere, her goodbye letter to her Guardians....*sniff* Okay I shall spoil no more for those who haven't played

Things like little being able to  find little bits of happiness in the face of overwhelming and inevitable desolation.

"I want my journey to be filled with laughter"

Oh Gawd I was really teary in so many ways its not funny.

And what I loved the most about every FF game are the Aeons/Eidolons/Summons. I especially love Bahamut ~ I was really sad to watch the end since...

the Fayth conceiving the Aeons would no longer exist following Yu Yevon's fall....

As strong as Anima may be....it looks like the stuff of my nightmares

Eitherway, it was really Fun (I never finished my sphere grid though...ran out of spheres and just cbb in the end) ~ especially so when the "battle theme" is so ingrained in your mind, my parents have heard it so many times that my Dad can be heard humming it subconsciously occasionally.

And then there was that time I went to the temple to pray with my family...my brother said to me he'd bribe me if I did the Spiran pray at the temple....and to that random kid who saw us and smiled...he knows...yup he definitely knows :P (praise be to Yevon lmfao)

The music was really-really good too, I found myself learning to play many themes on the Piano now (Thunder Plains, The calm before the storm, Normal Battle theme, Suteki Da Ne and To Zanarkand just to name a few) ~ I plan to purchase the official piano music book and then learn to play the pieces from that book one by one.

regarding FFX-3

As much I hate the idea of FFX-3. But if Sin does come back in FFX-3....I think it would be worthwhile seeing Yu-Yevon in an human form and not some strange pulsating insectoid thing with 2 rotating rocks....

Oh forgot to mention, I played this on my PS2

Now...I have bought FFX/X-2 HD remaster...but I still have no PS3 haha ~ eitherway I'm sure I'm not missing out on much apart from the remastered graphics and rearranged music.

P.S.: My Brother's and my crazy theory regarding Auron:: He fights Yunalesca, dies sometime later from his injuries, is sent to the underworld where he runs into Sora/Hades (i.e. Kingdom hearts arc)....returns back to Spira as an unsent

Next up on my list is to replay FFIX ~ "When the curtain falls, it is I who shall bask in the applause"....or something like that lmao...(quoted from Kuja)

I need  to get the hd remaster...man I'm so behind everyone else...

It's a beautiful game, possibly my favorite.

Yuna's theme, Rikku's theme, the ending theme and to zanarkand will always have a special place in my heart, and this game in general...
