Hey, so does anyone actually still play? About 3-4 months back my housemate got me to dig out my old cards and now I'm playing properly again, trading an going to tournaments once or twice a month. So hey, I thought I'd start a topic for Yu-Gi-Oh and see if I'm alone here or not! lol

Okay so obviously alot has changed since the last post here... made by yours truly.

 

Kozmo, Burning Abyss, Majespecter, and soon Performapals/Performages will so OP... I'm so not ready. I plan to go to YCS Sydney in January next year, but honestly I have no idea what I'll be up against as well as what deck to fight with. Any tips? Weed, I need your expertise.

I run a casual Masked Hero and Synchron deck, meaning I just throw in whatever cards I end up either buying or receiving.  I haven't truly played this game since the elemental heroes were first introduced, but I am loving the synchro mechanic, so much fun to mess with .

Synchrons ARE really fun to play! That satisfying feeling you get when you get out a Quasar after some insane combos is just so good! I like decks with crazy combos like that, they're really fun to play. By the way, if you want to get into a nostalgic mood I highly recommend buying Yugi's Legendary Decks. Mine arrived today and I absolutely love it! It contains three decks that Yugi used; One from Duelist Kingdom, one from Battle City and the final one is a mix of both Yugi and Yami's decks during their final duel. It also includes promos such as the Egyptian God cards! (Unplayable versions though) Also this set marks the first time Dark Magician Arkana is released to us here in the TCG! It's so worth getting

Funnily enough, my little brother already brought that, currently trying to have a more competitive Heroes and Synchron deck, alongside building a Chronomaly one (although that one will take ages to complete).  I'll probably buy it sooner or later though, if just to acquire some of the spell and trap cards contained within it.  May I ask why the Dark Magician of Chaos is currently forbidden though?  Is there some broken combo or something with it?

DMoC's effect was changed so it can't be abused like this anymore. Since it was altered, it's more than likely it'll come off the banlist next format.

I'm not mistaken, the one that came with the Yugi's legendary deck pack is, in fact, the errata'd Dark Magician of Chaos, so I hope it does return.

I've been out of the game totally on hiatus since August so this should be interesting to return now, seeing as MP15, Yugi gold set and PG3 are all in motion here!

Honestly I think Breakers of Shadow will be a game changing set. It has SO many good cards like Solemn Notice, Cyber Dragon Infinity and Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer! Not to mention that it'll be starting the "one foil per pack" thing they announced. RIP Ghost and Ultimate Rares.
