Golden Fighter's Reviews: The Amazing Spider-Man 2!

Posted

Hey everyone, how's it going?  As you all know, summertime is upon us, and now the epic summer blockbusters start rolling in for the enjoyment and entertainment of us, the audience.  As such, I want to give my review of Marvel's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which released on May 2nd!  My best friends took me to see the movie on May 5th, the day of my birthday, and let me just say that the movie was indeed amazing, just as the title suggests!  And so, here I am to offer you a quality review with the least bit of spoilers as possible.  So then, here we go!

The Amazing Spider-Man 2, directed by Mark Webb, follows the events of the first Amazing Spider-Man, in which Peter Parker had been bitten by a radioactive spider.  Now, in the sequel, he's fully accustomed to being the hero of New York City, and the city folk praise his good deeds, while some people write him off as a vigilante.  Now then, the main focus of this movie is delving deeper into the dark secrets of Peter Parker's family, which in my opinion, was handled spectacularly, and there's a bit of stuff in there that will leave you shocked!  The other main focus of the film is on Peter's relationship with Gwen Stacy, and let me just say that Andrew and Emma, the actors that play their respective characters, really have some epic chemistry, and the love scenes between them are nothing but pure delight!  Every moment they had together was a beauty to behold on the screen!

Now then, another focus on the film is on Max Dillon, a.k.a, Electro.  I won't spoil for any of you people who aren't into the lore of the comics, but veterans of the lore already know what's up here.  Anyways, i think that Electro's plot was handled pretty amazingly, and I thought it was epic.  Also, the inclusion of the Green Goblin and The Rhino were a nice touch, although they felt a bit rushed, plus Rhino didn't get enough screen time, although I had read somewhere that he was only in the film to tease the Sinister Six spin-off movie.  My point is though, Webb did an amazing job of interpreting the Spidey universe, with amazing battles, laugh out loud humor from our friendly neighborhood spider, and of course, the costume.  Because seriously, Spidey's costume in this movie looked nothing short of amazing!  And well, at the end of the film, much is left hanging about what will come in the next installment, so Spidey fans be prepared to be rocked out of this world!  And also, there are many references to the comics in the movie, which I'm sure you'll all love, and of course, the appearance of the one and only Stan Lee!

Long story short, if your looking for a movie that's filled to the brim with action, romance, tragedy,(trust me, definitely tragedy...)and comedy, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will deliver on all cylinders!  You cannot miss this movie, because seriously, it's amazing!  Well then, this was my review of the movie!  If any of you have seen it, please feel free to comment on what you think of it below.  For those who haven't seen it, what are you waiting for!?  Get off the couch and go see it! :D

(On a side note, for those yearning to know if there's an after credits scene, trust me, there's not, there's only a promotional bit of a certain movie coming out, but unfortunately nothing more.  I stayed until the very end of the credits and nothing showed.  Oh well, but the movie was still amazing! :D)

I have not seen this movie yet, but what I've heard from other people is that it was either meh, good, or awful. I didn't know if I wanted to watch this movie in theaters but now you have definitely made me interested in watching this. Nice review by the way!

There are so many negative (and I mean seriously negative) reviews about this movie online, and a lot of their points are valid--but when I saw the movie I loved it and there's no changing that.  I think any Spidey fan would love it even if it isn't perfect; it packed plenty of emotional and action punch, so much so that I wanna see it again!  Is anyone else here a fan of the Amazing Spider-Man reboot or do you guys think it came way too quickly?

No movie will ever be perfect, but this movie definitely delivered for us Spidey fans, and I think the reboot of the series is definitely amazing!  I really like Andrew's take on Peter Parker/Spider-Man.  He definitely fits the bill more!  Plus, they followed the comics by putting Gwen Stacy as Peter's first love!  That was great justice for the fans!  Still though, there will be 2 more Spidey movies and a Venom and Sinister Six spin-off, and after that, there will be no more, so I'm wondering how Webb will wrap up Spidey's story?  Anyways though, the ride so far is genuinely fantastic! :D

I'm not a fanboy what so ever and I get that the movie has drammatic flaws. But for some reason I enjoyed the shit out of this movie.... It's hard to explain.

Great review.

I was in the boat where a lot of reviewers were criticising it and even my uncle who saw it before I did said it was terrible and dragged in the middle of the film. Naturally, I ignored everything and went to give my own opinion on it as I was really excited to see it.

I left that cinema more amazed at how anyone could have hated it. I thought it was a brilliant film and definitely better than the first Amazing Spiderman. Andrew, Emma and Dane were all outstanding in it. Sure the Goblin didn't get a lot of screen time but they made fantastic use of him and in what time they did give him.

Now sure I can look past some of the Peter's parents backstory stuff but I thought the film was great regardless.
