Working multiple jobs in the summer - good or bad idea?

Posted

Long story short, I'm a high schooler, going into my senior year and last summer I worked at the Boys and Girls Club in the summer for training wage ($7.21) for 4 hours every week day for 10 weeks. In the end I made over a grand or so. However, going into my senior year, I need to hold down a job year long and plus I find myself bored to tears on a daily basis. So, I'm considering working two jobs, assuming I'm gonna get a position at the BAGC this summer again. Reasons? Well...I just want to buy stuff lol. That and there's a few things around my house that need repairing due to my carelessness. Ofcourse I also need to save up for summer.

So I wanna work an amount of 8 hours a weekday during the summer and find a weekend job as well. Good or bad idea? When it's school time again I'll try to have a job I can just go to weekdays. Another issue is I need to make room for driver's training. Trying to find an early morning class.

Good luck!

If you're willing to work harder, then go for it. It would only be a bad idea if two jobs would take up too much of your time.

Depends on whether you want to or not.  I would have rather worked throughout summer and came out with a lump sum of money to blow or save rather than "yeah guys, got drunk in the park again!"

If you can juggle having 2 jobs then go for it. If not then oh well. Do whatever you feel is comfortable with your schedule. By working 2 jobs though, you may not have as much free time to do the things you want, in your case, training and getting an early class.

If you think you can handle it, it would definitely be a good idea. The more money you can save up now, the easier of a time you'll have when you reach adulthood. Plus you'll have work experience.

If you're sure that you can handle it, then sure, go for it. Though to me it sounds a bit too much to work on weekends also. You'd basically have no free time. Also, doing the driver's licence takes up pretty much time, too,  so I'd say you either do it some other time, or drop the other job. But that's just my opinion, since I know I couldn't handle it. But if you know you can, then sure, why not.
