But anyone else notice that Vanitas almost looks like a heartless? Yellow eyes, black hair, almost the same outfit similar to Riku's when Ansem took over.

 

I was just wondering if there may be a connection somehow. I wanna hear all of your guy's opinion C:

Vanitas is also pure darkness. His heart of darkness was strong, so strong in fact, that it was able to create a shell for his heart.

 

Though, he and Riku obtained the suits differently. Vanitas was born with it, whereas Riku was given this suit by Maleficent.

There is an implied connection, but we don't really know. And his yellow eyes are just to symbolize his Darkness, just like everybody who accepts the darkness gets golden eyes.

Well seeing as he is made from the darkness in Ven's heart (and so IS pure darkness), it's only fitting he has the trademark darkness features (the eyes) and the black hair probably goes along with that. As for the outfit, I'm stooped

i thought Riku got the suit when he became Ansems puppet?

He had that before he became Rikunort. The first time he wore the suit was in the battle with Sora, after he reclaimed the Kingdom Key. Then he becomes possessed by Ansem.

The dark powers don't come from Ansem; it was the darkness lying in Riku's heart.
