Which Version of Street Fighter Should I Get?

Posted

I've heard a lot of good things about the Street Fighter games. I won't be able to get them right away, but I'm thinking about possibly getting one of them when I get another $20 on my Wii U. Street Fighter 2 is supposedly one of the best, and it's on the Wii U eShop, so I think I'll get that one. Although... There are 3 different versions. So, which one should I go with? I haven't played too many fighter games, but I really want to get into them more. SF is apparently the most iconic one, so I decided I should try it out.

I've played these fighting games so far:

Super Smash Bros (I know it's not considered a fighter by the hardcore fighting game crowd, but I consider it one, so yeah. Deal with it)

Naruto Ultimate Ninja (1 and 3 on the PS2. These are closer to traditional fighters than Smash)

Naruto Clash of Ninja Revolution (Once again, 1 and 3. Both on the Wii)

I think that's it, actually... So, yeah. The different versions are these ones:

Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers

Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting

Street Fighter II: The World Warrior

I've heard that Super SF2 and SF2 Turbo are considered the best, although I've heard mixed feelings on which is better. I just wanted to hear from people who know what they're saying.

Just wait, II is definitley not the best. Wait until you have a ps3 and get III or IV ultra, or try ultimate marvel vs capcom 3, thats one of my favorite fighting games. But if you're determined to get a wii u game with the money you have, you could get tekken tag tounament. But you're going to need a lot of practice, the games you've played are very simple in comparison.
