June 3, 201411 yr Shame the collectors edition is Square Enix Store exclusive. I'll stick with the standard edition, cool that we got a concrete release date though.

Just a theory, but perhaps their collector's editions weren't selling that well in retail stores so they decided to start selling them exclusively on their Online Store.

Although I checked there and at least Square offer free shipping for games so maybe I will drop the money for the collectors edition as it's only €10 more than the standard. This isn't the first time Square have made a collectors edition exclusive though, I think they did one for Drakengard 3. They might just do it for their niche titles I think.

That's my point, LIGHTNING RETURNS and X/X-2 HD Remaster's collector's editions were exclusive to the North American Online Store.
