Looks like BBSv2 isn't quite dead yet! But I still think if there is a story for it it will happen in Kingdom Hearts 3. Maybe.

Square Enix isn't gonna make Birth By Sleep Volume 2. Dream Drop Distance was originally gonna be called "Birth By Sleep Volume 2" but they decided to change the title.

There will never be a Volume 2... Unless you wanna fight sora as the Lingering Will, Travel the World in Between for 3 days straight and run around in Dive into the heart as a orb of light, be my guest

But what has she been doing in the RoD all this time? In the preview for it it looked like it'd explain this along with Riku's and Mickey's absences.

Not according Nomura! He said there's still a story, it's just been put on hold. So it's still possible, but like I said I think BBSv2 and Kingdom Hearts 3 will be the same game.
