God its 3 in the morning for me and why am I still up?

Anyways,Ive had a project in my mind for a while now,about 3 years,called KH Redux,and as of late Ive been closing in on my designs for these main characters that Ive been thinking about,and just a couple of days ago I finally actually made a good drawing of the two

 

NOW HERES THE THING!

Now that I have these characters somewhat planned out,I have no idea what their color scheme should be based on this pic,the only ideas Ive had so far is that their hair color,WHATEVER THE COLOR WILL BE,should be similiar,that the guy character's sweater should be grey,for reasons,and since Im planning that they should live on an island like Sora their skin color should be similar to his,with the girl maybe being a little more pronounced when it comes to that then the guy(the guy maybe looking more paler is what I mean)

ASIDE FROM THAT,I GOT NOTHING.

SO,ID LIKE SOME HELP.

Im wondering if you guys can help me with this problem,cause aside from those few ideas up there,I got nothing.

Im open to ideas and stuff,I can take any help I can get,maybe pull out some refs or something?

I would make the male's hair like red or some other color that really stands out, because it will go well with the gray; and maybe make his eyes blue or gray as well. As for the female, I would make her hair like a light blue and make her eyes violet/purple and then make her outfit lavender or a cream color.

BUT, that's only what I would do. I hope you get more suggestions to help you! I'd like to read your story one day and btw, those drawings are lovely. You have good artistic talent!
