As some of you may already know, at E3 this year, the long awaited title in the Persona Series, Persona 5 was revealed with no real information or anything really however they did reveal the release of 3 new Persona games that are linked with Characters from Persona 3 and Persona 4. These titles are

  • Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth (3DS; Japan Release - 5th June (Already out), North America Release - 25th November, Europe Release - 28th November {All dates in 2014})
  • Persona 4: Dancing All Night { -.-} (PSVita; Japan Release - Fall TBC, North America Release - 2015 TBC, Europe - TBC)
  • Persona 4: Arena Ultimax (PS3, Xbox 360, Arcade; Japan {Arcade} Release - 28th November 2013 Already out, {Both of the following are Xbox 360/PS3} North America Release - 28th August 2014, Europe Release - 30th September)

These games (With the exception of Dancing All Night) will star both casts from Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 Golden. Also to add to that there is the upcoming Persona 4: The Golden Animation and Persona 3 The Movie: No. 2, Midsummer Knight's Dream.

I think Atlus has just about milked Persona 3 and 4 dry with all these upcoming titles including both of the respective casts. Persona 5 will have a Japanese Release Window to be in Winter of 2014, with a North American Release Window of an unconfirmed 2015 date. The Persona 5 plot will feature as the same as previous titles but with a much darker tone, it is the same genre as a Life Simulation, TBRPG and Dungeon Crawler which Katsura Hashino, the Director of Persona 5 states that players of Persona 3 and Persona 4 "Will feel right at home". It has been confirmed the setting will still be a High School environment with a punch line of "You are Slave. Want Emancipation?" Which in turn could mean that there is a civil struggle with the government and they are restraining people from leaving the country or school. I have many theories on Persona 5 and i may talk about them as further news is Revealed.

To me, as long as they keep the story interesting, I don't care how many spin offs they make. Still it'll be nice to have a fresh cast in P5. At least they're working towards it in the mean time versus Square-Enix and the XIII Trilogy.

As much as I love the casts of persona 3 and persona 4, I do have to agree that they have been used to death (4 more than 3 ironically, despite being the newer title) though I'm sure that they'll be put into crossover titles with the persona 5 team. I'm pretty sure we can expect a third fighting game (either with the teams from 4 and 5 or 3 4 and 5), a portable version of persona 5, and another music title if this one does well. I also think there's a pretty good chance the kirijo group will come up in persona 5, though I am unsure to what extent.

That was way before E3 dude

Oh, right. I didn't even think of it, but all that was confirmed for japan in november, and america in either february or march

I think these are the last games that will feature P3 & P4 because Person 5 is coming this winter for Japan. It'll most likely that Atlus won't use the P3 & P4 characters again until a spin-off for Persona 5 is revealed. I really loved P3 & P4 and I think now we need a break from them.
