The Last of Us sales have passed the 7 million mark ahead of the game's remastered PS4 release later this month.

 

Naughty Dog's Arne Meyer announced the new figure during a presentation dealing with the next-gen version of the game, attended by IGN Spain. He also confirmed new multiplayer DLC is coming later this year that's set to be Cross-Buy between PS3 and PS4 consoles.

 

At least one new multiplayer map pack is being worked on, though this in turn could lead to more down the line. Both the single-player Left Behind and the recent multiplayer expansion Grounded were expected to be the last in their respective categories, though it seems this isn't the case. Sadly, the developer confirmed it isn't currently working on new single-player DLC.

 

Other news from the presentation confirmed the control scheme can be modified, and you'll be able to lock the framerate at 30fps for added stability should you wish, though Meyer was quick to advise against this. Any paid in-game content already purchased (like skins) should be Cross-Buy, so if you've bought them on PS3 already you won't need to grab them again. Finally, Day 1 DLC offering screenshot tools like those we saw in Infamous: Second Son should also be coming.

 

The last update we got on Last of Us sales figures was back in March when it passed the 6 million mark. Considering the game's set to get relaunched and with the promise of new DLC, it's anyone's guess where this figure will stop.

I'm not comparing, I'm just saying it has a fantastic story and gameplay, kind of like Kingdom Hearts. But for more of a mature audience.

If you want a good zombie-survival-story-game, play The Walking Dead. The Last of Us is good, but highly overrated. IGN gave it 10 out of 10 even when the game didn't come out.
