Hmm.... probably that level 77 basilisk as a level 14. Impossible.

Why was it even available to fight so early on!?

You can explore the entire world, but enemies don't scale to your level. Haven't seen anything that level or anything close to it so it must be one of the hardest to fight. I'm like level 20 now though, so I shall keep leveling and get the best gear and then ill kick its butt.

Hardly! You might be able to kill it around level 50. Level 50 gives you your last skill point, so my guess is youll have the best gear by then. And The Witcher isn't much of an Experience point galore game. You just get a little from killing enemies, and quite a lot for quests. There isn't a level cap either I don't think.

That would be very hard. You can't exactly kill tons and tons pf enemies to level. Would take eternity. There's only so high you can really go after doing all or most of the main story and side quests and exploration/minigames. Main story might end around level 35 like in witcher 2, but the game ended after you finished the main story. Was a very linear game with not as much to do outside the main story. This one is fully open and after you finish the main story you can continue playing. 8D
