I know there's seven masters and if it's anything like Zero they'll balance out each of their screentimes well

 

But if you had to say this show had a main character who would it be, Rin or Shirou?

Shirou definitely gets more screentime. The entire visual novel was played from his point of veiw. However this anime does something I like in that Rin and Shirou switch main character roles here and there. Some scenes you see what Shirous doing some scenes you see what Rins doing. Some scenes they are together. Ep 0 is centered on Rin. Ep 1 is focased on Shirou as a introduction to his character for people who have yet to see him or know what hes about. The rest of the episodes are mixes between both of them
