They sadly said the same thing about The Spirits Within, which single handedly sank Squarepictures, and lost over 2 million in ticket sales and DVD figures. 

 

But, this one seems to be both Final Fantasy related, and a separate enity onto its own, so that might help. Spirits did kinda tack the name on to boost sales.

They did, and made good points. 

Spirits is a beautiful film with good acting marred to the point of being awful by a subpar script, WTF twists, and Aki being as memorable as cat litter. 

 

The novelization, ironically, could have been sold as a novel period, and no one would've argued about it. It was way better than a film novel needed to be. 

I actually liked TSW. Too bad it didn't do well.

 

Also "select theatres". Knowing how it is with these things, it probably won't come to Australian ones.

I like it too...more than Advent Children. 

 

I'm not going to see it in theatres: Kissanime'll have it, so I'll download it. I MIGHT be able to buy the DVD, but I'm not holding my breath. 

Either way, as long as I can get the film I'm fine.
