I wrote up nine different shorts last night, and I swear everyone sucks.... 

Maybe this contest was a bad idea, if i'm going to stress over it.

Why are they trying to avoid Steam?

Ooh Ultimate Edition is the remake of 1 with remade cutscenes and extra story

Cause that's just how their program works. And plus if they put it on Steam they'd also lose out on more money. Plus they want their Windows 10 universal platform to be for everything including gaming. It's complicated.

 

I'm with you though on the Steam thing. I love everything being conveniently in one place. But you've got Microsoft putting their games on Windows 10, though Quantum Break was put on steam, you've got EA's Origin, Ubisoft's Uplay (at least they have the decency to put their games on steam but you still need their client), Blizzards Battle.net, etc. Why can't everyone just put it all on Steam? Dx

You often see them in the corners, lurking in the dark spots at the corners of your eyes, just out of sight, until you look for them. Little creatures, waiting for the day your eye stops on them just so, and they can take you. Some people call them gremlins, others faes or sprites, but no matter the name, one thing is always certain about them: their long, wicked teeth are snapping, and they are always hungry.

Contest Short 4
It wasn't supposed to end up like this: it was only a game. Anna cried, tears running down her cheeks. Bobby showed no emotion, watching the thing swing. I held back a retch at what we'd done, the rope game gone too far. We did tell Melissa to stand in the middle of the stool, only bend her legs a little, really we did. We'd all done it. No one told Melissa to step off.

The lady of the house wears black, and is only seen at night. Prim, proper, and prudish, her hair is pulled back tight. Glossy locks hidden in a bun, lips locked in a frown, Madame Dracul never smiles, unless there's blood around. For then her lips do open, showing teeth, sharp and mean. Able to tear a neck, directly at the seams.

I find things i know nothing about scare me the most. Take slenderman for example. Hes an enigma. You dont know what he is or why hes chasing you. Because of that the mind fills your expectations with worst case scenarios and makes it scarer. Humans fear what they dont understand.

That could work.

Not to attempt sounding full of myself, but the other two people posting haven't exactly done super strong stories.. it'd be easy to out do them. 

I'd like to at least get third place: I'd get a book.
