No, it's these two college people who get caught in a freak storm on a sailing race, and get sent out to sea hundreds of miles, crashing into a small island.

That actually sounds pretty cool. Aside from the sailing, that sounds somewhat like Lord of the Flies which is a good book.

It's not kids, it's adults. The novel is three short stories with romantic themes amidst horror and gore, kind of like Crimson Peak. She has to eat him in the end, to stay alive, because the island only has fruits, with no meat, so they're both ill and malnurished.

I guess I shouldn't say "novel": It's more like three novella's, tied by the same theme, with each getting gorier as it goes along.
