Hey guys, what's up? So, the Christmas season is upon us at last!(What the hell happened to Thanksgiving?). Christmas is my number one favorite holiday of the year(Halloween being number two). Of course, around this time of year, we are bombarded with every Christmas themed movie imaginable from now to the first of the new year. >.< Some of you may hate it, some of you may like it. Now you would think that with all of the holiday movies out there, that there would be something good to watch and yet, you find yourself not really liking anything at all on TV, have seen it all already(As has been my case xD), or you simply don't know if this show is good to watch or not. Well, here is a list of some of my favorite Christmas movies from over the years. Some of these you may have seen already, or some you may not have seen yet. With this list, you can see for yourself if you would like to check these flicks out. EnjoyP.S. This is just my opinion on what Christmas movies I think are the best ones.1. Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer (1964)This movie was one of the many shows that defined my childhood. My family would watch it for many years in a row. Made using stop-motion animation, this was the movie that made the modern image of Rudolph so iconic today. This classic Rankin/Bass production tells the now classic story of a misfit reindeer with a red nose who just wants to fit in and be like everybody else. Also, if you love musicals, this show is right for you; Rudolph is chalk full of classic songs like Burl Ives rendition of Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, Holly Jolly Christmas, and The Island Of Misfit Toys.2. Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)Not to be confused with the Jim Carry remake, this is another timeless TV show animated by one of my favorite cartoonists, Chuck Jones. This bright and funny 'toon is an adaptation of Dr. Seuss' children's book by the same name. Incidentally, this was the first adaptation to feature the Grinch as the green monster we all know today, as he was originally grayish-black in the book. The show re-tells the story story of the Grinch's determination to do away with Christmas in the peaceful town of Whoville. While not really a musical in and of itself, it is the origin of two very well known songs; You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch and Fa Who Dores(Welcome Christmas). Narrated by Boris Karloff and starring June Foray, this movie is short, sweet, and high on my list of Christmas movies.3.A Christmas Story (1983)Ok, if you've never seen this one, then you've been living under a rock in the dark at the bottom of the deepest ocean on the moon for the past 31 years. xD This show is almost as iconic as the very holiday we celebrate! This is one of the many movies I and my family have made a tradition of watching year after year. Its just that good. Set in between 1930s-1940s Indiana and told from the perspective of Ralphie, a nine year old, the film is about Ralphie's ever daunting quest to get his little hands on the coveted Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas and his parents foiling him at every turn! While the film is lighted hearted, and funny, it does have some mild profanity, so this might not be the best flick for children(ironically).4. Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town (1970)Another stop-motion Rankin/Bass production, this is, in my opinion, one of, if not the best, origin story for Santa Claus I've seen. Santa Claus tells the story of how a little orphan found by a family of Elves became the one and only Santa Claus. Yet again another musical, this show features some of the most well known Christmas songs; Santa Claus is Comin' To Town, and my favorite, One foot In Front Of The Other. I love this movie for its originality in the telling of Santa Claus' origin, the songs, and, and this is just me, the obvious Christian themes scattered throughout the show. This TV flick is made better by the vocal talents of Fred Astaire, Mickey Rooney, and Keenan Wynn.5.Scrooge (1970)Another movie that we have watched without fail every Christmas season,  this musical(What is it with Christmas and musicals? xD), re-tells the timeless Charles Dickens classic of Scrooge's ghostly encounters with the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. It does take some liberties with the source material, but that doesn't detract from the fact this is a really great film! I love this movie so much for the story, songs, and acting. Sir Albert Finney plays an amazing Scrooge and Alec Guinness as an equally amazing Jacob Marley(You would know Alec best as Obi-Won Kenobi from the original Star Wars trilogy.). This movie has some amazing songs like I Hate People, Father Christmas, Thank You Very Much, and my personal favorite, I Like Life(This one is my personal theme song. :D). The movie is a little dark, but well worth watching none the less.6. Disney's A Christmas Carol (2009)Another adaptation of the Dickens classic, but not a musical(For a change. xD), this is one of my favorite adaptations and high on my Christmas movie list. This is, in my opinion, one of the best adaptations out there. The movie sticks very close to the source material by and large, and is definitely one of the darkest versions I've seen!(that Jacob Marley scene still scares me. xD) Using motion capture, A Christmas Carol takes you on a dark and atmospheric ride through Scrooge's tale. Jim Carry of all people plays the titular character, but to great affect(This is one of only a small handful of movies I actually like Jim Carry in. >.<) It also stars Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, and the late Bob Hoskins. Again, another movie worth checking out.7. The Polar Express (2004)This is a recent addition to our Christmas movie watching tradition. The Polar Express is one of my dad's top favorite movies and mine as well. Based on the book of the same name, the movie takes the book and flips it on its head. But, in a good way. I read the book once as a child and remember not liking it very well, so, when I saw there was a movie being made of it years later, I assumed it would end up being pretty boring. I was wrong. Now normally, I'm not a fan of people messing with original works and changing things around, but, I'm ok with this one. The movie improves vastly on the book by adding more characters, and developing the plot in greater detail. The story follows a young boy who is having doubts about Santa Claus. On Christmas Eve, a mysterious train pulls up to his house and takes him and other kids to see Santa for themselves at the North Pole. The movie is narrated by Tom Hanks and is another motion capture master piece.8. The Santa Claus (1994)Again, you'd have to be living on Mars to not know this great family Christmas flick! Tim Allen stars in this Disney comedy about a divorced  corporate skeptic who accidently kills Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. As a result, he becomes Santa as a replacement. This is one of Tim's better movies I think and gives a unique and hilarious spin to the Santa origin story. The movie is followed by an amazing sequel(I refuse to even acknowledge that disaster of a third sequel. >.<) that is well worth looking into as well. Whelp, that's all I got at the moment. :D I'll update when I think of some more. Edit. Whew! After a whirl wind finals week and then getting sick immediately afterword, I'm back on the list! So here we go. :)9. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)If you're a fan of Kingdom Hearts, or Tim Burton, or both, then no doubt you've seen or heard of this hidden gem. Another stop-motion flick, this darkly imaginative movie serves the dual purpose of being both a Halloween movie as well as a Christmas movie. In the world of Halloweentown, the Pumpkin King, Jack Skellington, is getting tired of his undead life as the master of scares. While out on a walk, he stumbles upon Christmastown. Inspired by what he sees, Jack sets out to take over Christmas and spread his version of peace on earth to all people. Rather shocking at first if you've never seen it before, as was my case, you will grow to love this movie with each viewing! With the vocal talents of Ken Page as Oogie Boogie, Catherine O'Hara as Sally, Chris Sarandon providing the speaking voice of Jack and Danny Elfman providing Jack's singing voice as well as writing the music for the movie, this is yet another film that has become a holiday classic in recent years.10. A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)I don't care how old or young you are, you're sure to know about the Peanuts Gang! And if you're like me, a 90s kid, you've probably watched You're On Nickaloeon Charlie Brown! Anyway, A Charlie Brown Christmas was the very first time the Peanuts Gang came to TV. This TV show is as classic as they get. I loved Charlie Brown as kid and still do now as an adult! Charlie Brown has a charm all its own and is timeless. The show revolves loosely around two storylines; Charlie Brown's woes over the commercialization of Christmas, and the Peanuts Gang putting on a Christmas play. One of the things I love so much about this show is the way the characters talk about what the true meaning of Christmas really is. A Charlie Brown Christmas serves as a reminder that the holidays aren't just about decorations, presents and Santa Clause, but that the true meaning of Christmas lies in the love for one another and the gift of giving to others, and how that tradition was started a long time ago in a manger on a cold starry night. :) Of note, there is a spin off little short called It's Christmas Time Again, Charlie Brown! (1992) This special is a compilation of different Christmas and winter themed storylines from the comic strip.11. Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)Here's another Jim Carry Christmas movie! This one takes the Dr. Seuss tale to Hollywood. Weather that was really a good thing I'll leave you guys up to decide. ;) A new take on the Grinchy classic, this movie sees Jim as the titular character. With off beat humor sprinkled here and there, and witty commentary on the over commercialization of Christmas, this might not be the best movie for young kids, but none the less is a good and funny Christmas movie we can all laugh to! Whelp, I think I've exhausted my brain on all the Christmas movies/TV shows I can remember. Again, if more come to mind, I'll update the list. I hope you all enjoyed my list and maybe you have found a new movie or two to watch this year!

Hell no, HELL NO!!! I can't stand Elf! >.< That's the single worst movie ever made. You guys have no idea. When the movie first came out, my dad took me and my sister to see it. That thing was so boring, I literally fell asleep during the first part, and about half way through the show, both me AND my sister begged dad to take us home, we couldn't stand to sit through it any longer. He made us watch the whole thing. T.T Never, never again I tell you, will I ever watch that thing again. Its unbelievably boring, the story is just down right awful and I hate Will Ferrell with a passion. Ok, I'm done now. >.< Sorry for the rant. I'll update with more movies later today.
