A crisp morning, that December was. A cold, average day. quiet, at least until twelve PM. That, of course, was the opening hour of Mainstreed, the Questboards, and the Cherrywood Bar and Wood fire Pizza restaurant, a well-known hang out spot of a specific low-grade monster-bashing team, as well as where we find said team blacked out, on the floor, like usual.

 

NeverBetter awoke with a grunt, coughing up a ball of hair, he tried to recall last night's events. "That's the last time I let Yuffie get my drinks... I think I bit a chunk out of Silver's hair again..." He sighed picking himself up off the ground, he looked around at the rest of his drunken and sleeping team.

 

"All of you, get up, please!" NeverBetter called to his teammates. 

 

(Welcome to the world we now as Alternate. I have just put us all here for now, as I feel its the easiest way to do things in terms of kicking us off.  Let the posting commence!)

Soul leaned towards Neko with his hands on his hips, while sticking his tongue. "It's because I'm jealous, silly."

Neko looked at Soul, smiling a bit. "I know you're jealous." She said smirking, hugging Soul before slapping him with a fish. She immediately went back to Silver.

Silver ears twitched, a tad annoyed at the others. This was not what was going on, but the way the others were acting was starting to drain on Silver.

"Anyways," He began, waving his arm, "Can we focus on the task at hand, please?"

He glanced at Yuffie the moment she came in, noticing how slightly...strange her smile looked. The smile of a person who was in no mood to be doing it, but was doing their best to keep an about face. Silver left a small mental note to ask her alone if something was wrong.

"I don't know, it was pretty funny to me." Yuffie said, strolling into the conversation, hands stuffed deep into her pockets. She gave a smile. It seemed a tad... forced, but she faked it well enough.

After the hestericks, NeverBetter got up, noticing most of the team being there. "Alright, crew. Step it up, we ain't got no time left today for some of the better missions, he said, walking to the guild halls.

"Yes sir!" Kev got serious. he really wanted to do a mission.

"If you say so boss." Cap said, following the guild leader. Meanwhile, he glanced the rest of his teammates, who all seemed to be acting like their usual selves, save for perhaps Yuffie. She was generally so relaxed and upbeat, but he couldn't help but sense some discomfort behind her smile, like someone meeting a group of potential friends for the first time. He was tempted to ask her if anything was wrong, but considering that she didn't want anyone else to know something was wrong, decided he probably shouldn't. At least, not in front of everyone else.

Reyn ran up to catch up with the group as he got out of a bed late. "Wait up guuuuuuuuys, i woke up earlier but i couldn't get out of a bed for awhile because i felt kind of...weird and sluggish. But anyway, don't you worry, Reyn Time is going to be with all of you now!"

"No, Soul is just kidding. Unless the person we're assassinating is Kim Jong Un disguised as interviewers for a newspaper." NeverBetter said, only half-kidding about the rest.

"Oh hey Axel," Nortanort greeted Axel with a smile upon his face. He knew the guild was getting back together, even without a mission from NeverBetter. "Guide, Soul..." Nortanort started, before bursting into raucous laughter. He recovered before NeverBetter however, and handed him a jar full of jelly. "Now you can be jelly. I got this from a man who was... strangely obsessed with tubs of jelly. Don't ask," he said, before looking back at Guide. "My muffins shall surpass god! They shall breach the heavens with their tastiness!" he boasted loudly, in a dramatic pose. When Yuffie walked up, he noticed that her smile was... off. He didn't exactly consider himself a Smile-ologist, but he could tell it was a bit forced. Pulling out a muffin, he handed it to Yuffie, saying, "Here, take this," sounding concerned. Muffins just seemed to help people. He looked back at Riki, saying, "Well, I'm ready!" with an evil grin on his face.

The Hall, grand, made of marble and futuristic, spacy looking screens. The boards were filled with a number of quests, a large portion of the high-paying ones however were already taken. NeverBetter grimaced. "This isn't going to be a fun one, guys. The only good quest is to take out an army of giants in the upper reaches of Sai Peak. However, it pays a cool half-million in cold hard cash. Anyone object?:

Silver raised his hand, "Can I hum Guren no Yumiya  while we fight them?" This was clearly an important question (albeit a rather goofy one) as Silver's eyes held a clear confidence that he completely intended to hum the song for as long as he possibly could while fighting the monsters, even if the question in itself seemed to only serve the purpose of being sudden and extremely silly.

"Can I blare it with my witchcraft?" Neko asked, referring to Crimson Bow and Arrow (Guren no Yumiya).

That was the best song to fight to things.

She didn't mind fighting a scary army of giants

"I don't know Neverbetter," said Cap, wary of taking on an army of anything, let alone giants, "exactly how skilled are these giants?"

"No objections here." Kev drew his sword and crossed his chest with it, showing preparedness.

"Sounds legit," Soul replied eagerly, "can't wait to cut off their toes. I've heard of potions that you can make with those." Skipping over to Lelouch, he declared in a sing-song voice, "Let's do a kill count. Blank never loses so this should be fun. You can play too, if you want, Neko."

"I don't know Neverbetter," said Cap, wary of taking on an army of anything, let alone giants, "exactly how skilled are these giants?"

"Likely not very, but they are large, fast, and strong. Killing one is no easy feat, let alone a whole army."

He looked at the team thus far. "I see... I love the ambition I see in some of your eyes!"

"Hey, if Silver gets to hum something, I'm humming the Twisted Nerve. Just so you all know! Anyway, I'm rearing, and ready to fight these giants! Me and Clarice are quite willing to fight anything and everything thrown at us!" said Nortanort, confidently. He started humming a little tune, something to do with pink brews or something like that. It seemed pretty catchy. Certainly anyone who could see into his mind would find it stuck there. He picked up Clarice, and aimed into the air. Firing, he laughed as the flag went out. 

"Yeah, I'm up for it." Axel smirked, gripping his daggers tightly. "My daggers might not do much to them... But it doesn't hurt to try, right?" He asked, upbeat as usual.

"Sweet! Sounds great." Yuffie said, seeming very excited. Giants would be fun. And a perfect target for her rage. No. No, she didn't really have any rage. She was just a chill girl, going up a chill mountain, to kill some chill giants. Chill.

Reyn pumped his fist in his excitement. "Definitely got a good feeling about this! This'll be a piece of cake, especially with the Monado." Reyn knew he could smash any future away with this legendary sword.

"Aw, come on, don't hog all the glory." Axel teased Reyn. "I bet I'll take down as many of those giants as you do, and I'm not using that thing." He challenged his friend.

Reyn smirked. "Right, let's see you try then. And you know what? I'll prove to you that i don't need the Monado." Reyn pulled out his Gunlance as his second weapon strapped to his back. "I'll only use my Gunblade to take out these giants. We'll see who's really stronger, you ready to lose Shulk?" Reyn said grinning.

Kev was pretty reved up now! "Looks like were all ready, Mr. Better sir!" Kev only used titles like that playfully, but he did have a tremendous amount of respect for the big guy. He took him into the guild when no one else wanted him.

Nortanort tossed Kevin another muffin from his never ending stockpile. "He"e you go, bro! If we're going to be fighting giants, we'll need food, right? In fact, if anyone needs any food, let me know! I'll be happy to give away free muffins," he called out to everyone. And he was perfectly serious. He wouldn't even use any of his magical muffins.

Alright then, grab your gear, off to the Woods! We're going Into the woods!" Neverbetter yelled. "Actually, you lot, go stock up on food real quick, all of you except Yuffie. I need to talk with our second-in-command." He ordered. "Meet me out by Torm's Clearing, you lot know, just down the road from the bar, once your done."

"Let's go get cake." Neko said to Silver, smiling.

She loved cake, and she needed cake in order to survive.
