(BTW, this is what Puss looks like.)

Puss was satisfied with Ayano's scratches as she woke up. When she stopped scratching her, she got up and stretched out her legs, jumped off the counter and followed Ayano, meowing for more scratches.

After drying the leprechaun off, Patty gently placed Clover on the bed again. He turned to Ayano and took the cloth, pulling up a chair for her, just in case she wanted to sit down. He put the washcloth on Clover's forehead.

"Oh. Thank you lass." Then, Puss jumped up on Ayano's seat and stole it. She meowed to get the holiday's attention. "I see you've met Ol' Puss." the varmill commented. "Well, we can check things like his pockets ta' make sure he doesn't have any weapons. Or tie him up, or somethin'. Unless he's gonna be too weak to do anythin'." He sighed. "I guess after we search his pockets, I can make some tea and get some leftover soda bread if ya' want."

With that, Patty cautiously went around to other side of the bed and started to dig in Clover's pockets. As he did, Puss took stole his chair and jumped on the bed. She walked over to Clover's side and sat beside him.

"Oh, Puss! I guess ya' missed him!...Or the bed..." Patty said to his cat. "Ayano, you can check his pockets on your side." The varmill felt something in Clover's pocket. "Aha! That must be the flute!~", he said.

((Awww, I love black cats~))

Ayano scratched Puss behind her ear again as she sat down on the chair and replied. "Tea would be nice. We should also tell Aoba and the others what we're doing. Oh, and the presents you mentioned earlier?" With her free hand she reached into Clover's other pocket and pulled out his dagger. Now that they got his flute and dagger, the only thing they should worry about are his illusions. Now where to put them..

Patty pulled out Clover's flute from his pocket.

"Ah yes yes yes! We can keep the dagger an' flute close to ourselves until we...think of a good hiding spot. Oh! And the others! And the gifts! I'll call Aoba and Nick about where we are and what we've been up to right now!"

He took out his old phone and started dialing Nick's number. "OH! And it would be spectacular if we can get the gifts at the St. Patrick's Cathedral back in Dublin after the call! I don' think Clov is goin' anywhere anytime soon, so I hope we can take our time. Speakin' of..."

The varmill dug into the pockets of his scarf and pulled out his smallest gift. Clover's. It was a small wooden music box decorated with Celtic knots on top. It was placed by Puss, but she immediately felt as if her personal space was violated by the box and walked away. She jumped onto Ayano's lap instead, and rubbed her head against her.

"Oh, Puss! Yer' so wishy-washy!", the varmill chuckled.

With that, he pressed the call button and waited for either Nick or Aoba to pick up. He sat by the bed and Ayano as he did so.

"Hey Ayano..." Patty said, rubbing the back of his head with a shy smile. "Umm...Thank you so much for helping me throughout this whole ordeal. I really appreciate it!" He smiled at her once more with rosy cheeks. "Yer' such a good 'oliday!"

"Alright. Lets get started. We don't want to miss Christmas. Jack, you can drive the sled!" Grim said as he grabbed Miguel and Lucifer by the arms. "Come on guys, lets go get the sled before the elves regret the decision." Grim said smiling as he pulled the two to the sled, nudging for Jack to follow. Unbeknownst to them, a small slime of gloom sneaked up from the darkness, squishing it's way into the sled, and within its sack of presents. Grim could see the reindeers already giving each other questioning looks, not liking the idea of someone that wasn't Santa lead them around. But not they had much of a choice unless they went on a protest. Grim climbed up on the sled, picking up the reins and staring at them. "I've never driven one of these before." Grim muttered, looking over at Jack. "Hey Jack, you should totally drive." Grim said, picking up a rather long list that sat in the sled, and with it a pen, to mark the countries they would pass by. "Come on Lucifer, you know Santa will never let you get near this thing ever again. Only chance right now!"

...

Aoba jumped slightly at Nick's complaints. "A-Atleast they're helping!" Nick's phone rang again. Aoba quickly picked it up, not knowing if Nick was in the mood to talk anyhow. "H-Hello?!" Aoba asked, covering his other ear so that Nick's complaints weren't that loud in order to hear the call.

Miguel gladly followed along, yelling out to the elf before he left. "You're a pendejooooooooooooooooooooooo!" He jumped into the sled, and looked around at his teammates.

"Aye no! Everyone else has to go back inside and change! There's no way I'm going to stay in this costume unless everyone else is in one too!"

Jangle tried to go and chase them, but the other elves ran around panicking, so he was unable. "THATS JANGLE TO YOU!" He shouted to Miguel.

Meanwhile, Nick was about to have a spazz attack. "Who is it now?!" He asked loudly into the pillow. This was easily the worst possible Christmas, ever.

"Lets get this show on the road!" He shouted and snapped his fingers causing a cloud of snow to surround him. It formed a whirlwind and grew a little larger. then cleared to reveal he was in the same sort of outfit as grimm except he didnt have the hat, his outfit was blue and he didnt have the boots.

He mounted the slide and said:

"So i just do it like the time i borrowed it without permission?" He expected a shout from the elf and a chuckle from at least one of the three deaths.

Someone finally picked up. The varmill put it on speaker phone so Ayano could hear. The first thing he heard was Nick's yelling in the background then Aoba's voice.

"Sheesh, why's Nick so grumpy this time?", he whispered to Ayano. "Umm, hi Aoba. It's Ayano and Patty. We just wanted to let you know what we've been up to. Sorry we're taking so long to get that book. Things sort of got in the way. You see, we got a call from some 'oliday called Saturn, an' she told us that she got ina' huge kerfuffle with Clover the leprechaun. It didn't end well, because she got infected by him. However, she said that there might still be some good inside of him. So, we went to go find him so that he doesn't go infectin' others, but we found him unconscious with a bad fever in the grass at Newgrange. He was out cold. So THEN, we brought him back to my home, took away his weapons, and, well, here we are."

He nervously scratched his chin.

"I really don't know why everyone's gettin' a fever lately...It's really startin' ta' scare me...Oh, and we're gonna go get the gifts I have for ya' all in a bit. I think you'll like yours, by the way. I think that's it. Did I miss anything, Ayano?", he asked, as he handed her the phone.

Holding the phone, Ayano continued as she petted the cat. "We also got the book that the librarian called us for." She took out the book and flipped it open. She was curious what was written inside. "Umm lets see, huh?" The book was covered in writing about the gloom. It seems someone was doing research to look for a cure. "The whole book is about gloom and a few random stuff, which I'm guessing was to make it seem like a normal notebook." Ayano flipped to the back of the notebook. "Oh? Nick's name is on there including his phone number. There's also another name, Aurora. This must be Aurora's research notebook."

- - - - -

'My head hurts..' That thought repeated in Clover's mind. The whole time he was in an unconscious state, he felt like himself again: weak, pathetic, and worthless. However, once the gloom entered into his body, he was powerful. He didn't need to fear the humans or the holidays anymore. He could take care of himself. After gaining an increase in his abilites, Clover wanted to get revenge on the humans and the holidays, so they could never hurt him again. '...' So why was he rejecting what the gloom was telling him? He spared the humans, avoided hurting the children, and he resisted the urge to kill Aurora. Is that why he was sick? Because he refused to do what the gloom was influencing him to do? Clover felt his chest tightening. That must be it. Suddenly he heard a familar voice. 'Varmill? Is he on the phone? Why am I hearing his voice?' Feeling his conscious slowly returning, his eyes opened a little, his vision still a little hazy. 'Another voice, a girl?' Without saying a word, Clover shifted his gaze to the source to see a bunny girl and Varmill holding a phone. Another thing that caught his eye was the cat sitting on the girl's lap. Puss, Varmill's cat, how long has it been since he last pet that soft fur?

Saturn tried to keep track of where they were as she and her host flew over Europe, but the landscape had changed rather drastically. 'Why does it look like there are stars all over the ground?' 'The humans figured out how to harness electricity to make light at night.' 'What?' 'That was the super simplified version...' In the end, she decided to let Aurora navigate. 'So... Why are the lights so colorful? Wouldn't it be simpler for them to have plain white?' 'Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you. It's Christmas Eve!' 'The fat red Holliday you told me about earlier?' 'That is... One way to put it.' 'When did the humans make him up?' 'Pretty soon after you died, actually. The humans missed you, so they made up this Holliday called Festivus to celebrate and give gifts and stuff-' 'Missed me? After I spent five hundred years increasing crime rates, forcing masters to serve their slaves, and generally making their lives miserable? Sounds more like a celebration.' '... You think too little of them. Anyway, the Christian leaders didn't like Festivus because it was a "pagan" Holliday, so they decided to celebrate the birth of Christ then instead, even though I am pretty sure he was born in April...' 'So pretty much Christmas is my replacement that is far more happy and religious?' 'At first. Now it is a lot more commercial based and less religious, but that is beside the point.' 'So, how do you feel about this Holliday?' 'At first I hated it, but that was right after you died, when I saw it as a failed replacement for you. Then I saw how happy it made the humans, and I thought it was a great idea. The personification of Christmas right now though, well... He isn't very nice.' 'Translation to normal person speak: he is the son of a grizzly bear and a porcupine that wakes up on the wrong side of the bed every morning and drinks blood with his dinner.' 'No! He's not that bad... Just super intolerant of anything different. Neither him nor his minions like me very much for being a pagan Holliday, which I don't mind, but then he treats other people, including his son, like they are totally worthless to him. I... Can't agree with that.' 'Well, enough moral debate. I have an important question.' 'Do tell.' 'Are we there yet?'

Puss loved the pets Ayano gave her. When she opened up the notebook, the cat's curiosity got the better of it, and she put a paw on the last page she turned to. She mewed in curiosity, and tilted her head. When she did, she met eyes with the leprechaun, and stared at him.

"W-Wait!", the varmill shouted slightly as Ayano opened up the book. He didn't look in the book when they got it before, because he wasn't particularly fond of peeping into other people's stuff. He stopped his worrying for a sec when she said it wasn't Nick's notebook. "Wait, what? It's Aurora's notebook? Oh dear...Sorry, Nick. Guess there wasn't anything for ya' after all...eheheh...", he chucked awkwardly, rubbing the back of his head and blushing. "Well, I see...Maybe we can use it...for something. W-While we have it. Who knows how far Aurora has gone by now...Oh! I dunno...Maybe we should call her later too...", he thought. He had so many things on his mind. He didn't know what to do first, and what to do last.

"Yeah...Gloom, huh? She really was lookin' for a cure..." He put a finger to his lips; puzzled.

Puss meowed softly and jumped off of Ayano's lap and onto the bed again. Standing next to Clover, she rubbed her head against the boy's arm. She purred, and her tail stood up straight and quivered, a sign of extreme happiness. She kept meowing lightly while doing this. She missed him too much.

Miguel snorted. Jack was probably one of his favorite holidays. "Invite me next time when you 'borrow' the sleigh amigo! We could even have my dogs Chica Chico Paco and Pico be the reindeers! Wait both of them are Chiwhuawhuas so never mind."

The elf certainly did yell from the window. "BORROW?! THAT IS OBSURD-"

Miguel bursted into a fit of laughter. "Yo, I bet this culo can beat Caps Lock Day in a shouting tournament!"

Grim helped Lucifer onto the sled, and they were all on. "Don't worry elf, we'll try to bring it back in one piece. You can tell Santa his holiday is in good hands!" Grim said as he walked over to Jack Frost who held the reins. Grim gripped the reins slightly before cracking them, causing the reindeers to squeal and start to move. Grim then let Jack drive, the group holding onto the sled as it took off into the sky. Grim laughed and smiled, Christmas was on its way to be saved. Grim then took out his cellphone, turning on the camera. "Everyone look over, this is going on facebook!" Grim said as he pulled Miguel over to the frame of the camera and took a picture, showing Jack driving, Lucifer by the presents, and Miguel and Grim being themselves.

...

Aoba thought for a bit. "Aurora?" He hadn't heard of someone of that name before. He turned to Nick. "Did you had a girlfriend named Aurora or something? The book that has your name and phone number has the name of someone named Aurora...and the book has writings about gloom." Aoba said. Now he was curious. Was someone trying to investigate deeper into the gloom, but to try stop it, or spread it further? That was a scary thought. Gloom was already starting to influence other things. They needed to stop it from going further. "Well you guys aren't going to believe this. Santa had a stroke! And since Nick isn't fairing any better, Lucifer, Jack Frost, Grim and Miguel are going to handle Christmas this year!" Aoba explained. He then heard a notification on Nick's phone. Curious he went to check while having the phone on speaker. He stared down at the facebook post before wondering if Christmas was saved, or doomed.

Jack laughed a little whilst driving the sled. It was something he did every so often ... Ok not often but when he did it was fun.

"So how do we do this? It's not like we can just throw it into houses or something ... Can we?" He was a little jumpy since there was a little turbulence. Before doing anything else he  grabbed the reins with one hand and used the second to make it snow lightly as they left and the cloud followed them.

"I wonder if anyone aside from the crew are going to believe that." He said as he looked at the post.

Somewhere random:

"Well isn't this the pleasant surprise perhaps i should spice it up a little." Laughed mercury as he got a chariot ready and a spear in his hand.

"Jack jack Jack. You should have joined me earlier."

(mercury will be making an appearance soon and lets just say he changed a little. I'll Get to that in my next post)

Miguel winked into the cameras, and stuck out his tongue. He also flashed a peace sign with his fingers. He loved taking pictures, especially with his Sugar Skull markings.

"Tag me, por favor!" He said.

Miguel shrugged at Jack's question. "You use this sleigh! I guess we just throw them down?"

Meanwhile Nick ran his hand over his face. "No!" He said immediately. "I don't have a girlfriend! I do know her though. I think she was at the meeting that went to s***?" Aoba explained something about the information of Gloom in the book, which easily peaked his interest. "Can I see it?"

Ayano nearly broke the phone when Aoba said something about saving Christmas. "Those...four..?" There were anger behind those words. Grim, she sort of trust, but the others? Hell no! Ayano sighed, praying that the four don't mess up for the sake of the children around the world. When she heard Nick's queston, she responded, "I guess you can since the notebook does have your name on it." Ayano turned to Varmill, hoping that she didn't freak him out. "You want me to head back to Grim's cabin to show them the notebook? You can stay here to watch over Clover."

- - - - -

Feeling the cat rub against his arm,  Clover tried to ignore Puss. He didn't want the two holidays to realize he was awake. However, the temptation got to him as Clover gave in. Petting the cat's back, he barely made any movement. Surprisely as he continued to pet Puss, his headache got even worse as Clover slightly cringed.

Patty somewhat cringed at the statement that the death trio and Jack were going to 'save' Christmas. It's not that he didn't trust them, it's just a territory that he wasn't sure they could handle. Patty also observed Ayano's anger and shrunk a bit.

"U-Uh...Yeah, sure. You can show them the notebook. I'll stay here. Don't worry. I'll be fine. I-I'll have tea and soda bread ready for ya' when ya' get back. You have a safe trip, okay lass?", he said to her, smiling shyly.

After finishing his socializing activity, Grim got his cellphone away and looked over at the bag of presents. "I guess so." Grim said as he picked up one present and dropped it. He watched as the present fell down the sky, and just as suddenly, a tiny parachute appearing over the present, before sneakily landing right over a chimney and dropping down. "Well then." Grim said as he picked up more presents and started to drop them, each by the category of city and country. Every present that fell went on the same way, skillfully making their ways into the houses one after another. Grim had t admit it was a very cute thing to see. "Don't know why they don't let you help out at Christmas time, Jack. You're pretty skilled in driving this thing. Considering it was like, 12 grumpy deers to control too." Grim aid as he threw down the presents and watched them go. This was a new experience for him, and it was a great change from his usual job, which was one of the most depressing ones ever, to admit. Separating the living from the dead, insisting for the dead to leave and move on, it was always heartbreaking regardless which way it went.

...

Aoba rubbed Nick's head in comfort. "It's alright Nick, now you will be able to see what is so important from within the book, and hey, you aren't hurting that bad anymore, so maybe the guys are doing a decent job at the Christmas thing."

Miguel began to toss some presents down, extremely fascinated at how it all worked.

"Feliz navidad!" Miguel cheered. This was extremely fun for him. Of coarse, he enjoyed his own holiday too with the celebrations and the dancing. "All I need is some tequila and I am on Cloud Nueve! Grimm, do you think mi perros are going to get presents too?"

Meanwhile, Nick began looking through the book, marveling at the information inside. Aoba's comforting was making him even more calm for once, which helped him relax and focus more on the information in his hands.

"This is interesting..." He said. "There's so much information on Gloom."

Ayano nodded. "Of course! I'll be back, call me if something comes up." And with that, she went through the tunnel, taking her to Grim's cabin. When she arrived, Nick took the notebook and began looking through it. Folding her arms across her chest, she said. "Well, what do you think? Is there any way to cure the gloom-infected holidays?" Ayano wasn't expecting an answer since it was Nick afterall, but who knows?

Patty waved at Ayano as she left.

"Okay! Buh-bye!~" And with that, she was gone. The varmill sighed deeply and looked down at the floor for a brief moment before looking up at Clover and the cat. "Puss, you silly feline!", he whispered. "Don't do that! You'll wake him up!" He stood up from his chair and gently wrapped his arms around Puss and started to slowly peel her off of Clover's arm. Puss resisted by meowing and digging her claws into the bed sheets to stay near Clover.

As she did, she knocked the music box off of the bed. It's lid opened up as it hit the ground, and its contents scattered on the floor. Then, it played a hauntingly nostalgic melody.

Patty shrieked a bit, and let go of the cat. He knelt to the floor and picked up the music box and put its contents back inside, and closed it. He put it on the nightstand.

"Alright, alright! You can stay here by him. Just don't make anymore noise. Sheesh! I'll go make us some tea. Do NOT wake him up." Patty gently walked out of the room, leaving the door open.

He walked into the kitchen and grabbed the kettle, loose tea leaves, strainer, and teacups. He filled the kettle with water from the sink, put it on the stove, and started to prepare the tea. He hummed the old tune of "You Raise Me Up' as he unwrapped his leftover soda bread from yesterday as the tea brewed.

After about ten minutes, the high-pitched hiss of the kettle cried, and Patty took it off the stove and turned it off. He poured the hot tea into the teacups, using the strainer so that not a lot of leaves would get in.

"Oh heck! I hope this stupid kettle didn't wake him up..." He was overly concerned about Clover today. It was a bit odd.

Meanwhile, Puss stayed under Clover's arm for a little while longer. However, getting a little too comfortable, she climbed up on top of his chest. She spread her legs out and yawned, beginning to dose off on top of him without a care in the world.

"Haha now that's one bad idea. It's kinda the only holiday that people confuse me with. Besides the elves and Santa usually do pretty well." That idea was often thought about him but in truth he just kept avoiding the topic.

"I think we're about done." He said as the last presents made their way to the chimneys." Then from out of nowhere a spear flew through the air which Jack was barely able to doge. It was a chariot of eight horses in black plate armor with Mercury riding in the back. He changed into what jack refereed to as the god of thieves when they used to be messing around.

"Hold on everyone!" Jack shouted and steered in a way that dogged the incoming spears. Mercury stayed silent and continued his barrage.

(this is Mercury now.)

Grim felt himself losing his footing for a few seconds as the sled was abruptly attacked and swerved. "What the-?!" Grim turned to see Mercury on his carriage, ready to charge. He had changed since they last saw him. "Sh*t." Grim cursed under his breath, taking out his scythe, spinning it as the blades took form. "Someone better tell jingle we'll be arriving a bit late." Grim said as he kept his eyes on Mercury. This wasn't good. An air battle wasn't exactly a good idea, especially with the risk of Santa's reindeers getting killed, and that would mean all of them would be falling down to the earth to their probable deaths. "Mercury, long time no see buddy, however I can agree that these terms aren't pleasant." Grim said as he raised his scythe, ready to deflect or attack. "What you want with us?!"

...

Aoba tapped his foot as he followed the guys' locations via Facebook. "Good. It seems they're doing pretty good in the present thing." Aoba said smiling.

The first warning sign was when it felt like needles were stabbing through her wings. 'Aurora, don't panic, but I think we are about to fall.' 'Start gliding, we are almost there.' Then her wings started spazzing out , and they started loosing altitude even more rapidly. 'Aurora? What do I do now?' Saturn was really trying hard not to panic at this point. 'Do you have any control at all?' 'A bit. I am still mostly able to move, it's just the core and wings.' 'Right... Go human form.' 'Are you insane???!!!' 'Ever heard of skydiving? Spread your arms and legs, we will glide down a bit and let our wings rest, then pull them out when we get close to the ground, like a parachute.' 'You are insane.' 'If I wasn't, this would probably never work.' Saturn took this in silence, deciding to try it out. She had no better ideas. About forty feet from the ground, she opened her wings into a glide. 'Ok, can you try to roll as you hit the ground to minimize impact? It looks like there is some tall grass to our left. It should help.' Saturn switched back to human form, no point in messing up their wings. She rolled about ten feet in the grass, landing on her back. 'Right, we should be a thirty minute walk from the library.' 'Tell me you're joking.' 'Why?' 'We almost just died!' 'So? The Gloom doesn't take breaks. Why should we?' '... I can't even... No, Aurora, we are not going to the library, we are going to find your base and go to sleep. I have only been here a few hours and I can already tell that you are exhausted.' 'But... I want to do more mythology research.' 'The books are not going to run away overnight.' 'No, but our sanity might.' 'Look, what did you want to read about? Maybe if you tell me what you already know while we walk, and I help with sorting your ideas, it will still help, and I can force you to rest.' 'Ok. You should start walking North 76 degrees East. I wanted to do more research on mythological artifacts with healing powers or the ability to bring back light. Unicorns were a complete dead end, their mythology is even more crazy than mine, and you saw how that got exaggerated even after a hundred years. Apparently they started as a hybrid bread of goat and myth turned them into magic horses with healing powers. Don't even ask. The Stvkwvnaya legend was no better. Honestly I wish I had started keeping track of all of this before it got so unreliable.' 'Hindsight is 20/20?' 'Always. Anywho, I have been looking into a "holy grail," which, according to the original legend with Percival, had the ability to restore life,

or at least rejuvenate people to a degree. Pretty close, but if that was going to turn up, the humans would have found it by now. I also talked to Hermes about potential cures once, as he is the "god of medicine" among his other titles. No luck. The Golden Fleece... Well, I helped make that one up, so...' Saturn continued walking in the direction Aurora had indicated, listening to her explaining various Arthurian, Ancient American, and Chinese legends, including Zishu and Dinao, while occasionally adding her input. It was a good thing that she had talked Aurora out of the library. They were covered in grass stains, and her legs were kind of scraped up. She was only thanking the heavens they hadn't gotten broken bones. Stupid Gloom, anyways.

"I just want to play with my deer friend Jack." He replied while continuing to throw spears.

"You moron! What on earth got into you?"Shouted the frosty daredevil. For a second the mask opened to reveal his face.

"P .... se ... He...p me..." The face managed to say before getting swallowed up again.

"What ... Was that?" He asked before noticing a pike incoming at missile speed.

"Come little Jack. Lets play." Were the words of Mercury who was being controlled by something odd. It wasn't gloom by the looks of it.

As the barrage went on Jack managed to keep the sled intact.

"Time for some fancy flying!" Frost shouted as he turned under an odd angle and made the sled turn over for a second but not enough to let anyone fall out. Next he brought it down to ground level where he kept steering between buildings hopping to avoid the glum infected god. Now they passed between houses in such speed that they were as good as invisible. Finally jack got to a tall building and made the sled go under 90 degrees just so they got enough momentum for a little trick. As soon as they got to the roof an avalanche started from the rooftop causing huge chunks if ice to fall down onto Mercury. Finally he regained the altitude and slowed down.

"YAHOOO! Lets do it again!" He shouted before getting a hold of himself.

"Sorry. Did we get him?

((The music in the music box is very peaceful, it was also very beautiful. ^_^ ))

As Clover pretended to be unconscious, he heard Varmill nearby trying to pull the cat off the bed. Suddenly, a crash and a calm melody started flowing into his ears. He wasn't sure if he was imagining it, but his head felt a little lighter as the music box continued to play. Unfortunately, the sweet music was cut off as Patty closed the music box. After hearing Varmill's footsteps leave the room, Clover finally decided it was time to leave. However before he could get up, he felt something pressing down on his chest. 'What the-' He looked down to see Puss spread out on top of him. Cursing in his head, Clover slowly started putting his hands around the cat's waist. He didn't want to alarm the cat and Varmill.
