5:00 PM - Athánatos

     "Hey, did you hear?"

     "Hmm?"

Inside a dainty little music store in the city of Athánatos, two folks were talking. Joel Martin and his co-worker, Ellen, an epser that specializes in cryokinesis. Not too long ago, news spread about a dead body being found in the outskirts of the city. It is being speculated to be a murder.

"You heard that there was a murder in the outskirts of the city, right?", Ellen said.

"What? No way.", Joel replied, looking at her with a worried face. Ellen nodded.

"Yeah. The gov sucks at their surveillance right now. They need to step up their game, especially since it's, like, three days until a full moon! AKA, The Night the Loons Come Out."

"Come on, Elly. How can you be so sure it WAS a beast?"

"I'm not. That's just usually the case."

     "Don't generalize, Elly."

"Sorry! Sheesh. Anyways, the boss told us to go home early, to lock up. He said he'll be here later to watch the store. Guy's a brute. I think he'll be fine."

"Really? Aw, jeez, and I have to walk, too...", Joel muttered.

"You don't have a car, Joel?"

"No, I already told you. I don't have money for a car, or the insurance."

"Yet...you can afford to pay the rent all by yourself, buy a laptop, AND a smartphone?...", she teased. Joel crossed his arms and pouted like a child.

"Be quiet. I got those on a good deal.", he said. Ellen chuckled and patted his shoulder.

"Come on, I can take you back to your dorm. I have a car that runs fine. Besides, I've driven you home before.", she offered.

Joel sighed, and then gave her a light smile.

    "Thanks Elly."

With that, they cleaned up, turned the lights off, and locked up the store. Ellen unlocked her car and they both went inside. With her in the driver's seat, she put it in the ignition, and they drove off towards the university.

"Here, let me turn on some music.", Ellen said as she turned on the radio, and switched it to a random station.

Joel looked out the window, entranced by the song and the color of the dusk sky over the city.

However, he was also scared about the events that have unfolded today, and what events could possibly unfold later.

"I hope that death wasn't too close to the university...", he thought, overthinking it.

Meanwhile in the outskirts of the city, many people crowd around a supposed murder scene, debating and pondering what could have happened, and how it happened.

"You see?! This is exactly why ALL of those damn monsters should be locked up!

"Shut the hell up! You people don't even know if it was a beast!"

"It has to be! I know!"

The people just kept bickering and complaining for what seemed like hours. It looked like a fight would break out at that moment.

Vincent still stared at the young boy. "Dried deer blood eh? Well I can definitely tell you're telling the truth as your scent also carries deer," Vincent said walking towards him. He ignored Lilith's comment for a little bit as he was only doing his job. "Tell me, boy. You're not human right? I don't recall a human who hunts with their bare hands- except for my brother but he's a different situation," Vincent said to the boy. "I'm not accusing you of this crime. You just need to take better care to save face from the rest of the crowd," Vincent said softly. "Other than that, you're free to go," Vince said aloud as he turned around walking in the opposite direction. He then turned to Lilith. "I've been taught better than to judge any diety based on what they do in their spare time," Vincent smiled to her.

Vincent turned his head around a little. "Why don't you three come by my office some time! I would love you all to work on some cases with me some time!" Vincent shouted to the group of three boys.

Silas stared at Vincent, making eye contact as his sharp eyes scanned Vincent's movements. "Is it that obvious I'm no Esper?" Silas asked as he raised his hand and licked a bit of the dried up blood off it again. "You're different. I like that." Silas said, referring to the fact of how he actually did his job based on facts rather than assumptions like most police Espers who had it against Beasts. In sign of respect, he lowered his hood, revealing his face and sharp golden eyes and a smile on his face, his sharp fangs showing off. He took a moment to take a look at Lilith, and just as quickly, he averted his eyes to the side as a pink blush crept on his face. "(Holy crap she's very pretty.)" Silas thought, looking away and scratching his cheek. He then paused to hear Vincent's offer. He smiled a bit. "You know, that would actually be a good thing and helpful for you and your men. I can run across the city and check for any suspicious activity." Silas offered. This would be a great way to have a legal excuse to run around the city on his fours and let out his wild urges while searching for possible culprits. It was a win-win situation. Silas quickly wrapped his arm around Joel, pulling him close. "This kid can keep an eye around the university area. His room has a great view, the roof does too." Silas said, slightly resting his dried up blood hand on Joel's shoulder.

Joel looked at Allen with a sympathetic face.

"O-Oh. I see. Well, I hope that they treat you well over there!", he commented at Allen.

When Vincent stepped over to them, he couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. He started questioning Silas, who simply had deer blood all over his hands. When Silas explained himself and Vincent let him go, Joel sighed in relief.

"Whew. Glad you understand, Sir Vincent.", he smiled.

When he offered for their help, Joel was quite flattered.

"R-Really? Oh, I'd love to help! I'd love to! Where can we start?", Joel exclaimed happily, putting his hands together.

Suddenly, Silas wrapped his arm around Joel. Joel froze for a second.

"U-Um. Yeah...he's right. It is a good view. And I have been on the roof a couple of times.", Joel said shyly, smiling at Silas with rosy cheeks. It has been a while since he felt useful. It made him feel...nice.

"Um, hey, Silas. You should clean yourself up. You don't want to be scaring anybody else, now do you?", Joel chuckled nervously.

Elisa tilted her head slightly, confused. This Sergeant wasn't acting like a normal authority figure. By now any of the others she had seen would have taken to boy into custody for just having blood on his hands. Naturally his being a beast wouldn't have helped his case much. The silver haired man was certainly intriguing, and the discussion was interesting as well, so she didn't regret wasting time here, but it was probably time to leave soon. On impulse, she quickly began sketching the leaves and foot prints of the marked off area, which was more visible now that the crowds had begun to calm down and clear out, onto the back of her canvas. She had been working on perfecting her texture, detail, and shading recently, this might make a decent practice picture. If she worked on it enough she could probably sell it, too.

Allen was half a mind to run away but then everything cooled down a notch.

'At least the place wont go up in flames any time soon.' He thought to himself for a moment before continuing his thought with:

'Well if any place should burn down i'll just give them the orphanage address.' After that there was the whole come help with the case line that just outright shocked him.

"I don't think the caretakers will let me do that much. he said to Vincent in the hope that it would let him spend more time outside that dreadful place. It was just part of his master plan to show off in front of the others ... Ok maybe not but it kinda looked that way so he might as well take credit for it.

(Ugh, never mind, guess I can't keep up. Or I'm just too lazy to keep up with this one... Sorry, I'm dropping. Hope you don't mind Hargle.)

Joel looked at Allen again.

"Well, I guess that could depend on how old you are, and what you can do. We forgot to ask you, kid. What's your name, and what can you do?", he asked politely with a smile. "And Vincent! W-Where did the murder occur this time?"

Then, Joel glanced at a young woman who was sketching something. He tilted his head at her, raising an eyebrow.

"What is she up to?...", he mumbled.

Meanwhile, at the new crime scene, many people, particularly children, crowd around a house on Wenway Ave. They had followed a blood trail to it. A woman is sitting by of the front door, sobbing and frantic.

"Are Linda and Annie okay? We wanna see them!", a young child called out to the woman.

"Just get out of here! You don't want to see!", the woman cried.

"No! We have to see them! Are they alive?!"

Unknown to them, in the backyard of that house were the bodies of the two girls, looking very much like the previous victim. Pure black canines were embedded below their collarbones.
