KH3 and Open World - yes or no?

Posted

Do you think that the concept of Open World would fit into the KH universe?

In the past games we have only seen tight, branched areas. KH3D is an exception, because the areas were much larger in comparison with the older games, but not really Open World. Due to the current gen hardware, SE has the possibility to enlarge every world, fill it with life and connect every area with each other without loading screens. There wouldn't be any limits.

Imagine a Twilight Town, where you can go to the rooftops and walking around without being interrupted by a black screen. There are many people on the streets and you use flowmotion to reach the top of the clock tower and to see the sunset in beautiful HD graphics.

Any opinions? Should KH try this step? Do you think that it will happen this way without a doubt but it shouldn't be called Open World? Or do you prefer it unchanged and think, that there are already too much Open World games and KH shouldn't be one of them?

Some user here in this thread believed that KH3 won't have Open World like areas, but the KH3 E3 trailer really hints towards it and Nomura confirmed that there is a huge decrease in load times. As he said it can't be compared with other huge Open World games but it is a huge improvement.
