Hello everybody! These are my first impressions of Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae.
Okay, now I'll go for the obvious first statement... I thought it was amazing. I'm gonna be revealing some events of the Demo, but don't worry I'll spoiler tag it.
The demo starts off with Noctis and company in a tent with their alarm clock going off. You find out rather quickly that Prompto has ruined the group's car and they are therefore looking for a way to repair it. The group discusses that they will need 24,000 gil to repair their vehicle. They then find a bounty for the Behemoth named "Deadeye" for 25,000 gil and decided to hunt it down in attempts to raise the much needed money.
The battle tutorial is quick and to the point so don't worry about it needlessly dragging on, you'll be taught all the combat basics in about 3-4 minutes. After you're finished there you'll continue with the main plot of the demo. I noticed some unrefined elements such as the party members getting stuck on a corner or serious frame rate drop, but don't worry. It's completely understandable at the current stage of development. You have to use your best strategy in combat or you're toast. Running out of MP, Potions, and getting cornered by a large enemy means serious trouble. As the party was working together to take down Deadeye
even though the first attempt failed
The other members really have your back, giving you potions or defending you out of a tight spot. They're all valuable assets to the team.
Overall, even though this is a demo and not completely refined, it feels amazing. So amazing that it just might be the best FF ever.
