"Please leave this meeting", Chairman Donald said, "Everyone except the council". About one hundred people got up and left the room, one by one. Today was the first meeting of the year and as customary for all first year meetings, the Council would meet in private to discuss different things that they would hope to accomplish for the year without having the presence of the people influence their decisions. Chairman Donald stood up. He was now sixty-eight years old and wasn't the soldier he used to be. Instead of carrying a gun he now had a cane that assisted him in walking around. "I hope you all were able to read the classified information of Project Reborn", he said.
The council nodded their heads slowly. Chairman Donald was now at the age where even if you agreed with him he was willing to restate his wishes just for clarity. "Project Reborn", Donald said, "Is our last hope for the human race as we know it. It has been almost twenty-four years since we predicted a food shortage will occur and the prediction still holds true. We have to find other locations to where we can send our children to have the ability of raising their own children. Which is why Project Reborn suggest that we send a small party of specialized people to explore the terrain outside of the walls. Everyone agree"?
The council was in no place to argue it had already been declared that something like this was happen. Avoiding the inevitable food shortage was impossible while still residing in the walls. Still, how did they get to where they are, right now.

For the past 500 years, the last known people of Earth have secluded themselves within a city they call The Citadel. The Citadel was created to protect those inside and keep other things out. It is surrounded by a Great Wall that reaches seventy feet high. It was built after a deadly disease called Reiborne almost destroyed humanity. The survivors decided to come together and live peacefully within the walls. The only people who have been recorded to leave the Citadel are criminals who are banished, due to their deeds againist society, never to return again.
The Citadel was a major success and the city prospered becoming a small civilization. It was divided into five different sections: the Center, Living Quarters, Agriculture, Industry, and Research. Each area has two representatives on the council for a total of eight on the council. The Citadel then elects a chairperson over them all.
By secluding themselves within the wall for so long, the humans have lost contact with others outside the wall. Resources are also limited so the Research section is constantly looking for ways to increase the number of resources that they have such as water, stone, and gunpowder. Technology is relatively advanced but is limited. Due to the resources the Military gets the first pick of all technology while the Upper Class can get theirs through payments.
The one resource that have eluded the people is food. During the 450th year, they predicted a food shortage will occur within the next fifty years.
You have been chosen to be apart of a special expedition to explore different locations outside the Citadel. You have the responsibly of working with a few select others as you all work for the common good of the citizens of the Citadel.
