Tons of people are voting for Roy to be a DLC character in smash bros but he's already in it, I didn't believe it at first but I figured out how to play as him

you just choose Bowser Jr. and change his costume    xD

You just raised all my hopes and smashed them with a hammer.

Maybe if someone could please say Roy's last name just to clear these things up? Giving characters last names makes it easier to understand who you're talking about particularly.

Look everyone, an original joke.

Too bad FE Roy has sound files in game, pretty much confirming him as a DLC character. Can't have too many Marth clones, I guess.

You should play Street Fighter 4 where they are over 7 characters that uses the shoto fighting style of hadoukenShoryuken and plays almost the same:Ryu,Ken,Gouken,Dan Hibiki,Sakura,Akuma,Evil Ryu and Oni

So really Smash has been pretty tame with the clones compared to some other fighting games

I have played Street Fighter 4. I wasn't trying to put down Smash, everyone on this site knows I love the game. I just don't think we need another Marth clone.

I know you weren't putting Smash down,I'm just making the observation that, while sure I'm not fond of the idea of another Marth clone, the clone fighters are pretty much a stable in the fighting game genre.....the key here is the little differences that would make a clone shine from the original to suit the style of different players

For example:Some players can't master Ryu even if their lives depended on it but somehow are really skilled with Evil Ryu,Ken or Akuma even though the differences between each shoto fighter aren't that much

I know that clones are common, but I feel that there are a lot of better options that just Roy. Even if it's another clone like Pichu, I just don't feel like Smash needs three of the same character. Brawl had three Foxes, and everyone complained about that, but now everyone wants a third Marth. The Smash fanbase confuses me sometimes.

I do know there are subtle differences, but I'd rather see more original characters with new movesets be included. Sakurai did a great job with all of the newcomers in terms of making them all feel different (Except for Lucina and Dark Pit), and I'd like to see that continue with the DLC characters. Although I'm not really excited about Ryu seemingly joining in as DLC, I can imagine that he'd have a more unique playstyle compared to other characters. That's what I'd personally like to see out of the Smash DLC.

Personally I'm really excited for Ryu to be in Smash.....I mean come on he's literally the most iconic fighting game character in the genre.Besides we didn't get a martial arts fighter in Smash yet(unless you count Captain Falcon xD)

The worst part is there are so many other Fire Emblem characters they could put in rather than Roy. I main Marth so it'll be a little annoying to see yet another clone of him to be honest.

I don't have a problem with him getting in, it's just not a a reveal I'm personally really excited for.. I pretty much just started playing Street Fighter two days ago, so it's not something I know much about. His moveset could be interesting, though.
