They're being blunt, not rude.

 

Upfront, constructive and even blunt criticism is the best kind. Because it tells it how it is and helps the Criticised know what's wrong and what can be improved.

 

And if you're not keeping their attention beyond the first words you're saying, then this kind of criticism is the one you desperately need.
