The Legend of Zelda: Legacy of Triforce (RP with Riki and Sabre Lily)

Posted

"Lana... the prophecy has failed to come true. The hero in green is not here, and the Dark Prince will be resurrected... Please, find the three heroes who can stop him. Only through the unity of Power, Courage, and Wisdom can we prevail... I leave the kingdom in your hands, Lana... I trust you to stop this approaching threat."

After witnessing her sister, Princess Zelda, fade away into a pitch-black fog, Lana awoke from her dream, screaming as she did so. She'd had the same nightmare for the past three months, and dreaded what it could mean. However, just as legends had told of such prophecies coming to past princesses in dreams, Lana trusted the final words of her now-missing older sister. Regardless, she was anxious of the events that would occur today.

As she was beginning to climb out of her bed, her door suddenly burst open, and a large woman wearing a plain blue and white dress entered the room, panting for breath. "Princess Lana, are you okay? I heard a scream..."

"I'm fine, Impa." Lana nodded. "I had the dream again... That's all."

"I see." Impa quickly managed to catch her breath once again, then stood up straight. "Well, soon there will be nothing more to worry yourself about! Today is the day that we get to meet the heroes that the previous princess told you of!" She spoke cheerfully, knowing how worried Lana was. The poor girl was already distraught after being forced to the throne at the young age of 14, but over the past four years, she'd only grown more worrisome and stressed.

"Yes... you're right. I should not be so concerned." Lana responded as she stood. She made her way over to her mirror, and took a short look at herself. Her tired eyes were the first thing she noticed. She'd barely managed to get any sleep the previous night. Her long, black hair also fell in front of her face. In general, she looked like a complete mess. "Now... excuse me, Impa. I need to get ready."

"Ah, yes, I understand!" Impa nodded. "I'll have the three wait outside the throne room while we wait." She ran off, rushing to make the necessary preparations.

Lana sighed, but a slight smile spread across her face. Impa had supported Lana ever since her ascent to the throne... She deserved a rest after this ordeal was finished. She began to prepare herself for the meeting she would soon have...

Meanwhile, Impa had just brought Sara, Irisviel, and Rou to a small lounge room within the castle. "The princess will be ready to meet with you soon. I thought it would be a good idea to let you meet each other before we get on to the serious talk." She smiled at the three. "I'll be back soon, okay? Stay in this room, please!" She left the room, and headed in the direction of the throne room to wait for Lana to arrive...

Sara was amazed by the inside of the castle. Having spent her whole life in a small cottage with only her older brother, a home of this size felt surreal to her. Why did the princess need such a large place to live? Who did she share the castle with? Many questions ran through the woman's head as she waited for Impa to return. However, she quickly snapped back to her current situation while thinking about what Impa had told the three about meeting each other. Ah, yes... I should make a good impression for these two. She smiled at her new comrades. "Hello, my name is Sara. Who are you two?" she asked politely.

Irisviel had no idea why she had to have been woken up. She was enjoying the warm bed at the inn, minding her own business, and now she's awake and having to sit here with two random people. She was too groggy to think clearly...then she looked at Sara. Warm. She looked warm.

Irisviel pitched across Sara's lap, relaxing. She yawned and started falling asleep, utterly out of it.

Rou grunted in annoyance. If he were allowed to have his weapons he would have already tore a hole through the white beacon of this castle's interior, painting it red like a rose with enemy soldier blood. But the magically armed Knights were in a better situation than him, his brute force wouldn't amount to much. "Rou. Though my name our yours matter little. As soon as I am able I am leaving, either by permission or by blood." He stated dryly.

Sara was a bit surprised when Irisviel suddenly decided to take a nap on her. Is... this something that people in the city usually do? She asked herself, trying to understand what the girl just did. It didn't really bother her, but she didn't understand it, either. She had hoped to hear the girl's name before she fell asleep, at least. "Um... hello, I guess." She muttered, before listening to the boy in the room.

Sara seemed slightly intimidated by Rou's threat. However, she decided to try being friendly. Maybe she'd manage to get on his good side, and convince him to stick along with her and the sleeping girl. "It's nice to meet you, Rou." Her smile returned.

Irisviel raised her hand.

"Irisviel Pendragon." She yawned and dropped her arms, falling back asleep. She didn't seem very excited or full of energy, or even mad.

She Wm just wanted to sleep.

With a puff of air, Rou snorted something like a crazed boar: it sounded though like the beast had charged in. Even if one was brave, sleep was a time of vulnerability, he just hoped he woke up the lazy girl. "If what they tell me is in fact true, she will probably fall asleep and get run through before night falls today."

Sara seemed slightly disappointed that one of her comrades wasn't as friendly as she had hoped. However, she still tried to remain optimistic about the situation. "We will have to make sure that does not happen, then." She spoke in a cheerful tone.

Suddenly, the door to the lounge opened, and Impa entered. "Alright, please follow me to the throne room! Princess Lana is ready to meet with you." She told the three, then waited for them at the door.

Sara gently shook Irisviel's shoulder, trying to wake her up. "We need to go meet with the princess now, Irisviel. Can you please wake up so I can stand?"

Rou didnt wait for those two, he just walked past Impa without even acknowledging her existance. He just wanted to find his opportunity to escape the stuffy building so he could get back to his home in the mountians.

Irisviel sat up, rubbing her eyes. She looked at the back of Rou's head then for anything to throw. She got off of Sarah, then turned to her.

"You are very comfortable." She said. The girl then, unceremoniously, picked up Sara in a bridal carry.

"As thanks for not disturbing me." She just carried her in.

Sara was about to thank Irisviel for calling her comfortable, but before she could do so, she was suddenly lifted into the air by the same girl. She was a bit confused, and was about to insist that she would be fine walking to the throne room on her own, but decided to let Irisviel do whatever made her happy. Impa was slightly confused, but decided to not bother asking. She'd seen much stranger acts in the past. The four quickly reached the throne room, where Princess Lana waited for the group. She had a regal appearance, but there was something about her that still made her seem somewhat rebellious. It was also clear by looking at her face that she was exhausted, as well as worried. However, Impa decided to introduce the three heroes. "Princess Lana, these are the three who have been chosen by our royal guards." She began to motion towards each one as she spoke their names and titles. "Irisviel, the Hero of Courage. Sara, the Hero of Wisdom. Rou, the Hero of Power. These three are ready to begin their journey to save the kingdom, your highness." She bowed, and receded behind the three.

Lana studied each of the Hylians before her intently. One in particular, the man named Rou, made her feel concerned. She did her best not to show this, but he looked similar to the past reports of Ganondorf, the very threat which she believed these three would soon face. After examining the three, she decided to finally introduce herself. "As you three know, I am Princess Lana. It is a pleasure to meet you, heroes." She bowed in respect. "I am sure you have an idea of why you were brought here, but I would like to personally inform you of the crisis our kingdom currently faces... Four years ago, my older sister and parents set off to look into a certain threat that they feared we would need to face. Of course, they never returned... and I was named the new ruler of Hyrule." She sounded sad as she told this part of the story. "However, recently, I have been having a recurring dream. In this dream, my sister, Princess Zelda, tells me that the prophecy of a courageous hero in green has failed to pass... however, she also tells me that there is still a glimmer of hope. If we can gather three heroes, each one a shining example of one of the Triforce's sacred virtues, they can band together to defeat the Dark Prince." She explained. "Of course... my guards have chosen you three as the most likely candidates to fit those positions. Before I describe what your quest will entail, I would like to allow you to ask me any questions. Feel free to ask about anything you wish to know."

Sara listened intently to the first portion of Princess Lana's address, and one question came to mind. "Excuse me, your highness... you mentioned a prophecy that did not come true. What did this prophecy say?"

Princess Lana quickly answered. "According to that prophecy, in dark times, a hero wearing a green tunic would rise to defeat the forces threatening our land. This hero represented the sacred virtue of courage, just as Irisviel does. However, this hero alone would be able to defeat the evil threats. As this hero has not been found, we believe that we must listen to this new prophecy if we wish to save Hyrule."

As this hero has not been found, we believe that we must listen to this new prophecy if we wish to save Hyrule."

"It's an old legend. The man, whose face -though lost to time- was known to wear a green tunic, though he was a shining example of all three virtues of the Triforce, as all of those who were of their legacy would be, this hero was filled with courage the most. The evil force, some text mentions his name as Gannondorf, sometimes as just Ganon, or to never have a name, at least not one listed, exemplifies Power, the "attribute" I share. In each retelling of the story, Princess Zelda, a Hylian princess, would exemplify the trait of Wisdom. If these three attributes fall unto us, there is much wrong with this world. It is unnatural. However, I will only agree on one thing."

Rou frowned. "I exemplify the trait of the Triforce of Power. That is one thing that cannot be dented, none in Princess Lana's army can hold me. This is why..."

he held his arms, almost completely invisible magical chains held his arms from moving too far. "I think that for once I might be willing to trust such a story. Normally, I wouldn't bother with myths, fairytales, legends, it is not my circle of life, at least outside of the light reading I get from the local Bandits when they steal a children's book or a historian's lore guide, however I might make an exception. For once." he tensed his arms, the chains on them shattered into a magical dust, and same for some very similar leg shackles. "However, Princess Lana... You're going to have to convince me that there is more than just myself involved. If this girl here..." he looked at Sara. "...Is to exemplify the trait of Wisdom, how is it that one such as a man of dirt and blood like myself knows more on this matter? Or how our "Courage" replacement for our costumed hero can't be bothered to find the courage to stay awake for a dam- Ahem. darn minute? Or maybe you care to answer how the hell your people found me in the first place." Rou was nothing but curt, straight to the point, he lacked manners, for the most part...

But he was trying his best to sound educated. In reality he was just making assumptions on what he read from, like he said, children's books and the occasional lore book his rowdy neighbors managed to rustle up every so often and what little they told him to keep him from busting the door down and breaking half the castle apart. He just hoped that the little he knew was enough to prove his point. Rou was many things, but not was he educated. Not at all.

Iri had set Sara down to listen politely. The moment Sara's feet touched the floor, Irisviel was stately. She was almost perfectly elegant, as if she had trained for such appearances all her life. She listened between the two, and her calm, quiet, elegant demeanor was shot. Bristling at the insult to her courage, Irisviel took a slow, deep breath. Letting herself relax, she slid up, just a bit closer to Sara.

"Sorry about this."

Iri kissed Sara without pause...then did something stupidly audacious.

Before Sara could say a single thing, Irisviel's outline glowed purple, and she, in a burst of speed, was in front of Lana. She bowed. "I request your forgiveness." She said politely, before pulling Lana close, and kissing her right on the lips. She released her and sped right back to Sara, not a hair out of place. She then turned to Rou, hands placed over each other in front of her, fingernails perfectly lined up with the hem of her skirt.

"I take all insults to my honor as an insult and a challenge. And, sir, sleeping has nothing to do with courage." She didn't break her now icy calm. Turning back to Princess Lana, she bowed. "If I am your hero of Courage, so be it."

"And acting like you would even challenge me isn't Courage, it's stupidity." Rou responded. "You wouldn't have taken such rash actions had I never said a thing. You require motivation to be courageous, the truly brave will act in without thought." He snarled. "Atop this, you lack any manners or tact. Something I thought I would have been accused of far earlier, and forced yourself upon others to prove your "bravery". You're about as deep as a puddle of water where I come from: they don't exist." He turned. "My apologies, Miss Lana. You will have to find another who fills my slot. I will not work with such an amature." He began to walk away towards the door.

Lana was prepared to respond to Rou, when suddenly, Irisviel began to argue back. She kissed Sara, a move which Lana found... odd, but before she had much time to think, Iririsviel appeared in front of her. Lana was prepared to question the girl, but this time, Iri kissed her then went back to the other heroes. Lana paused for a moment, not entirely sure how to respond to what had happened. Impa looked like she was about to explode, though.

Sara also seemed confused, though in a much more naive way than Lana. What was that for...? Sara thought to herself.

Lana eventually composed herself when she noticed that Rou was about to leave the room. "Please, wait Rou!" She shouted down towards him. "The fate of Hyrule lies with you and these two.. Please, listen to me and give them a chance. This affects you as much as it does us."

Irisviel yawned.

"Of course. I have met many people like you. Everyone's a coward, yet when they do something to prove themselves you dismiss them as weak, needing motivation. You hail from bandits, but I won't let your lack of education stay my judgement. If you wish to judge me by outward appearances, then so be it." She smoothed her skirt. "Of course I needed motivation, in this moment, to be brave. I'm in the bloody Hylian Castle, surrounded by the finest soldiers of Hyrule. The only thing I needed was the ability to be calm, collected, and attentive. Of which, you are brash, scattered, and can't even spell attentive, let alone say it without butchering the language." She didn't even snarl, smirk, or make facial expressions. She just stayed still and icy. "And, my Princess, I too believe a more suitable holder of Power is needed. His power is only in his skull, which appears thicker then the castle walls."

"One with courage needs nothing to prove themselves. Much like a child crying tor attention and to be placed as something worthwhile in the eyes of a supperior. So far, all you've done as "coursge" is sleep, carry in a girl who, forgive me for my lack of perfect speech or ability to spell, you obviously have a little crush on, then kissed the princess unwarrented and in fact unsolicited. A move than any other serf would have been cleaved through for, and worse if we were in my home region, but your so-called talent and title prevents such audacious acts from carrying any weight, besides the obvious ire of Impa. So far a you've proved to me is that you do not fear me. Which is very.... foolhardy, I believe is the word, madame? Either way, you remind me of a small wolf-pup that barked loud at me until I punted it about a kilometer away. Either show the trait you're suppose to exibit, or I could give you a quick trip home via my foot going so far up your rear it opens a portal back to your bed." Rou turned at her. "I've got nothing to prove to you. I can demonstrate my talent quite easily. It's beyond second nature. Besides that, nothing matters." He turned back in the correct direction of his destination. With a flick of his wrist as he passed the door, his signature was carved into it. A jagged "R" with the top chopped off and an "o" in the two lower legs of the "R". "They say it only took one hero to fill the roles of us three. And if he were anything like little miss seduce-me, I would expect it wouldn't be too hard for one such as myself to do. Kill monsters, find treasures, as they say in the books anyway. Far from a difficult task as I do such things by just being who I am. I'm going to collect my equipment. Have a problem with this and maybe I won't help at all."It was obvious Rou was low on patience. If they wanted any chance with him, it would be best to give him room. Lest they show him why they chose him for "power". He continued down the grand room and the hall down, towards where he would assume they would have kept his tools and began his walk to the secured items storeroom. In reality, the sign read "kitchen" and he would stumble into the garden if he kept going the way he was, but...

Lana was about to chase down Rou and make him help her out, but decided to leave him be for now. She doubted he'd be able to leave the castle and town without attracting much attention and being chased down, anyway. Instead, she turned to Sara and Irisviel. "I apologize for what just happened... When he's calmed down, we will discuss the mission once more. I am sure that he will be able to reason with us soon..." She sighed. "If necessary, there are plenty of rooms in the castle that you two could stay in if you must wait a while. Please, make yourselves at home here." She smiled at the two. "And, Impa... Do you know if you could find him and help him to find his equipment? I fear that he may end up causing a bit of damage to the castle if he roams on his own and can't find where he's headed."

"Yes, your highness." Impa bowed, and ran off to find Rou.

Lana turned back to the two girls remaining in her throne room. "Like I said before, please make yourselves at home here. Feel free to spend some time relaxing while we wait for Rou to return."

And quite in fact, they were. By the time of arrival, the castle gardener had fallen into a pit of despair, quite literally. Rou had dug a person-sized hole in the ground he was able to crudely write with the remains of all the destroyed fruits "despair" into the top of the hole. A little farther down, Impa could see Rou digging up the next plot of land, a shovel in hand now which he had borrowed from the trapped gardener, in search of where his items were being held.

Irisviel rolled her eyes. What a drama king. She turned back to Lana and listened quietly, the curtsied. "I will be fine in town madam. I am not one for castles." She didn't sound...overly thrilled regarding a room in the castle, which was the only emotion she showed. it was clear that Rou's words had not caused any problem with her.

Why should they? He questions her courage. So? he was a brute. He forced his way through things, and now he thought he could win alone. Strength, solely strength, can not win. She would let him fail.

Irisviel had no obligation to him.

Impa quickly ran over to Rou. We'll need to clean this mess soon... "Um, Rou, excuse me! Your gear isn't around here... I can take you to it, if you want me to." She offered, hoping that Rou would cancel his attack.

"Well... I understand, but please, we are completely prepared for guests such as yourselves. Your stay will be enjoyable, I guarantee." Lana smiled. She secretly didn't want another person missing that they'd need to track down.

"Then take me." Rou stated plainly, throwing down the shovel. He turned to face Impa, waiting on her to guide him to where he wanted to be.

Iri sighed, then bowed.

"As you wish."

"Very well." Impa quickly turned to the gardener, and mouthed the words, "I'll help you soon." After doing this, she led Rou out of the garden, and through the halls of the castle. Eventually, they reached a room with various weapons and pieces of armor, including those owned by Rou. "Here it is, sir. I can also direct you to an area with beasts you can battle, if you need." She offered.

Iri sighed, then bowed.

"As you wish."

"Very well." Lana smiled. "Feel free to do as you please while you wait. It might not be the most exciting thing in the world to sit around, but there are still quite a few things you can do in this castle." She explained. "We also have guest rooms prepared for you all, if this takes longer than we expected."

Sara nodded. "Thank you, your highness." She bowed as well, then turned to Irisviel. "Would you mind if I accompanied you? I do not really know what to do right now..." She admitted.

"I do not know either." She admitted. "But if you wish, then I will accompany you."

"Okay!" Sara seemed happy to know that at least one of her new teammates wanted to spend time with her. "Hm... maybe we should look around for now?" She asked Irisviel. "I am sure we can find something to do if we explore a little."

Shrugging, Irisviel reached over and took Sara's hand. "Lead the way." She said softly.
