Mission Statement:

 

As many of us know, kh13 seems to attract several bots who tend to spam our good forums with advertisements and other things

 

Yet despite the constant efforts of our Moderators to eliminate them, the bots always seem to show up on a daily basis

 

Because of this I have decided to begin officially documenting the bots to see if patterns begin emerging behind their actions

 

Such as their age, gender, usernames, sub-categories they make threads under, what language they write in, what time and day they post, what they're actually saying, what they advertise if anything

 

We have fought this war against the bots for some time now yet they always return, therefore before the Moderators do their jobs and eliminate the bots I seek to learn these things about each one to try and find patterns

 

Of course I'm not always online so I can't do this alone, if Moderators who delete the bots and their propaganda could at the very least tell me either here or in chat what time the bots posted so I can make notes that would be excellent, or if any Member who sees them could supply me with information, take a screenshot or copy and paste what they say, it would be invaluable to my research

 

Together we can begin studying these bots and begin to unravel the mystery behind them, perhaps even uncovering the truth of the bots!

I think 4 bots visited my profile page for some reason a few days ago... They have the usual weird names, and no profile picture. I checked some other people's profiles that had the latest visitors thing to see if it happend to anyone else but I didn't see them. They didn't send me a message or anything but it was strange. Here's a pic:

janicepihf89 is one of the bots that visited ExilraMaybe you two commented on the same topic, there may be no connection at all but that's what comes to my mindAnd thank you, informing me of suspicious bot activity is always very welcome and useful

But why are they doing this? They don't get anything for liking other peoples posts.

Maybe these bots have their ads on their profile, and they do it to make you look at their profile? That's my only guess for the profile-viewing ones and the ones that give likes.

Flaming Lea actually explained why bots like comments to meApparently to get away with posting their ads and spam they try doing things to avoid the spam filters to make them look like regular members, such as liking people's postsSo for the time being bots liking people's posts seems to be due to them trying to bypass spam filtersBut now what I want to learn is how they choose what comments to like

I checked, it does seem like these same bots liked your posts on July 24th, July 27th, and July 31st to name their more recent datesTheir reasoning behind doing so is the same as I told Felixx, it's very interesting how they target you with the same accounts

What did they have on their profile? Interesting though that this one had something on theirs.

All of Mablegype's links seem to lead to nothing though, and when I tried making a skype call I looked up their username in the directory but nothing came up

Quota is preventing me from giving out likes to these great tidbits of informationYes with Klonoa many of them like his beginning comment on topics he startsSo it's possible a bot simply likes the comments at the top of the page so they can bypass the spam filter without having to scroll down and work to hard while doing soTheir patterns are already beginning to map themselves out once the smart members of kh13 begin looking into it owo

I haven't experienced quota... yet. And yes, adding them as friends will definitely make them trust you and want to reveal their secrets
