Mission Statement:

 

As many of us know, kh13 seems to attract several bots who tend to spam our good forums with advertisements and other things

 

Yet despite the constant efforts of our Moderators to eliminate them, the bots always seem to show up on a daily basis

 

Because of this I have decided to begin officially documenting the bots to see if patterns begin emerging behind their actions

 

Such as their age, gender, usernames, sub-categories they make threads under, what language they write in, what time and day they post, what they're actually saying, what they advertise if anything

 

We have fought this war against the bots for some time now yet they always return, therefore before the Moderators do their jobs and eliminate the bots I seek to learn these things about each one to try and find patterns

 

Of course I'm not always online so I can't do this alone, if Moderators who delete the bots and their propaganda could at the very least tell me either here or in chat what time the bots posted so I can make notes that would be excellent, or if any Member who sees them could supply me with information, take a screenshot or copy and paste what they say, it would be invaluable to my research

 

Together we can begin studying these bots and begin to unravel the mystery behind them, perhaps even uncovering the truth of the bots!

This can stop if the website goes through more security checks for creating an account. Captchas and email verifications are usually the first line of defense against bots like this...

Daily Report: no new bots sighted but the same old ones are still liking random posts. Shouldn't they get banned?

In the past, I reported Bots quite frequently and they were always banned....now they seem to just stick around.

Please don't copy-paste bot messages into this topic. Google can penalise us for having spammy text on our website, and especially linking to spam websites, so I really don't want that. If you want to include the bot's message, then take a screenshot as some have done, but don't put anything in text form. Feel free to transfer these into screenshots and edit your posts, and I'll report this topic so that the mods can clean up what you guys miss in a day or two (hopefully giving you time to save whatever you want to save).

 

Also, I've implemented some measures which I hope should stop as many bots coming on KH13. It really is getting to be quite an issue, isn't it? Hopefully this helps, let me know if there's no big improvement.

Seems like the bots really aren't getting much better. Another thread that Master Eraqus found, which I found too and reported. A ton of bot-like people have also been viewing my profile lately as explained above (even more as of now) which has kinda been getting tedious with my visitors list, haha. Maybe I could try looking into a way of how they get in, and try to find a way to stop it if need be.

I feel like I'm becoming the searcher of bots or something.
