DID YOU KNOW... Warrior of Light

Posted

This character, known widely in spin-off Final Fantasy games as Warrior of Light. As the Spin-off games have said, he is apparently from the First Final Fantasy game. BUT, if you have played the original game, you make a party of four heroes of your choosing. Now here's the big question: Garland is there, and Chaos is there, but where's WoL?!

Well, here's the big thing SOME of you may already know about WoL. His debut was actually "Dragon Warrior", the very first Dragon Quest game! Reasons of his appearance on the title screen of the remake of the original Final Fantasy appears unknown to me, but one thing's for sure:

He will be in both Theatrythm Final Fantasy AND Theatrythm Dragon Quest. He is a double-franchise character.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you know what Warrior of Light's deal is? Tell us below!

The first Final Fantasy lacked any written main cast, giving you four nameless and faceless protagonists, each called a Warrior of Light, so I think in order to keep in the spirit of the original game, Dissidia kept the idea that he had no name other than that. One of his alternate costumes is the red hair and red armor that resembles the Warrior sprite from the NES, so I really think his existence is mostly based around the party members of the first game (likely the Warrior as its probably a more balanced choice than, say, the Black Mage or Thief).

I've always assumed that the Dissidia WoL was the Warrior/Knight class of FF1 that was redesigned in the opening of the PS1 port of the game.

My brother did, and I'm currently playing through 012. But if it is a prequel, how come my brother didn't say-Wait, he probably thought I didn't even care about that part. lol. But yeah, in Dissidia 012, WoL is one of my mains.
