Pokemon: A new Beginning in Johto

Posted

Here it was, at long last, New Bark Town! Charles North, who preferred to be called Chuck, had finally arrived at his long awaited destination. Here he would receive his first Pokémon and start his journey as a Pokémon Trainer! He was so excited! As he approached Prof. Elm's lab, he found a bunch of other kids like himself, here to receive their first Pokémon as well. He went inside and approached the Professor.

"Hello young man, are you here for your first Pokémon?" Prof. Elm asked.

"Yes sir, my name is Charles North and I'm ready to start my journey as a Pokémon Trainer!" Chuck replied, a big smile on his face. "But please, call me Chuck."

"Oh, so you're Pryce's grandson!" Prof. Elm said, turning around to where three Pokeballs sat. One by one he threw them, and a Pokémon popped out of each. "You have three choices." he said. "Chikorita." he gestured to one with a leaf on it's head. "Cyndaquil." gesturing to the one with flames coming out of it's back. "Or Totodile." gesturing to the one standing on it's hind legs with spikes coming out of it's back.

Chuck looked them over and noticed something odd about the Cyndaquil. "Professor, aren't Cyndaquil normally blue? Why is this one red?"

"Well Chuck, some Pokémon may appear as an alternate color. It is a very rare occurrence, though it doesn't effect the Pokémon in any way other than it's appearance." Prof. Elm replied.

Chuck nodded, with a smile on his face as he decided which Pokémon he wanted. "Alright Professor, I would like to choose Cyndaquil as my partner."

"Alright Chuck." Prof. Elm said, grabbing Cyndaquil's Pokeball and recalling it before handing it to Chuck with a Pokedex. "Would you like to give a nickname to her?"

"Her?" Chuck asked.

"Yes, this Cyndaquil happens to be a female." Prof. Elm replied.

Chuck let Cyndaquil out of her ball and picked her up, looking at her for a bit. "I think I'll call you Ashley." he said, smiling. "Cyn!" the Cyndaquil replied, happily nuzzling his face. He laughed and returned her to her Pokeball. "Thank you Professor!" he said, before heading out of the lab.

(He calls it a special ultraball because he thinks he can catch Ho-oh With it. James is not that well known with how pokeballs work and thinks ultraball is like a superduper ball. It's not really special or anything xD)

''I did not really think of facing of against gyms but it seems like a nice way to train'' He says to Adam. ''So Violet City it is?'' He asks while looking on his map.

(Yeah, but how did he get it, you shouldn't be able to have such a powerful ball so soon)

(It seems my pokeball knowledge is not the great aswell as i meant he has a greatball.. But seeing how it is still a bit powerfull so soon I'm changing it to be a Premier ball He got from a elder from his town. Those can work right? They where made in Gen 3 but you could have them in the remakes i think.)

(They're in every game since gen 3, they're just a regular Pokeball with a different texture, they were going to do something special with it in gen 3, but never did.)

(but James does not know it's nothing special :3)

"Yeah, let's go!" Chuck said, leading the way.

Kor smiled as he followed Chuck. He was excited to get going with his friends. He was also looking forward to meeting more Pokemon and seeing other things. He looked back at New Bark Town, and waved at it as he followed Chuck. He was also looking forward to fighting the Gym Leader of his Home City, and he was also thinking of an old Memory of something.

Adam nodded to the others and began to walk towards Route 29 with them. He put his hands in his pockets as the walked. His face held a calmer expression than before he got to know the other three. "You guys wouldn't mind stopping around the route 46 exit would you? Ive heard that there is a possibility to find wild Phanphy there and if we could find one I'd like to catch it." he said to the others. "If it takes too long we could also camp out there as well and get to know one another a bit more." his voice is rather held back as if he forced himself to ask the question to the others.

(I only say this cause I remember that Phanphy were available in pokemon crystal or something)

*After checking*

(Yep route 46 in the morning, but our characters wouldn't know that yet now would we.)

As Chuck entered Route 29, a wild Hoothoot jumped out at him. "Alright, my first wild Pokémon encounter!" Chuck said, grabbing Ashley's Pokeball. "Let's go Ashley, Rollout!" The shiny Cyndaquil appeared and then rolled into a ball, shooting toward the Hoothoot, dealing super effective damage to it. The Hoothoot retaliated by pecking the Cyndaquil. Ashley came back around for another hit, dealing even more damage that time, but Hoothoot pecked her again. "Alright, that should be enough." Chuck said, grabbing one of his Pokeballs. He tossed it at the Hoothoot, and it went in the ball. It shook once, twice, three times, and pinged. "Alright! I caught my first Pokémon! Great job Ashley!" Chuck said, picking her up and giving her a hug. He went over and grabbed the ball. Checking the Pokedex, he found that Hoothoot was also a female. "I'll call you Hedwig." he said, before returning Ashley to her ball.

(They don't have to be in the exact route you can find them in, they don't even have to be from the same region. Like I'm thinking of finding a Shinx on the way to Violet City, to help with the Gym. Just as long as it makes sense for the Pokémon to be in the environment it's in.)

(Thats why I'm going to follow the game on this one. route 46 is partially mountainous)

Kor looked around Route 29, and a Pidgey came flying at him. "Oh snap! A Pidgey! Azure, let's go and use Metal Claw!" Shouted Kor, sending out Azure. Kor threw Azure's Pokeball into the air, and Azure landed, as he let out an angry growl as the Pidgey tried to use Wing Attack on him, and he jumped into the air,  as his claws shone a bit, and he went right at Pidgey, and slashed at it with his claws, sending it to the ground. Kor winced as he saw that, feeling that he should go more easier on Wild Pokemon, a she took out a Pokeball. "I think that's enough, I think this Pidgey's down enough!" Shouted Kor, preparing to throw his Pokeball. Kor threw the Pokeball at Pidgey, and watched as Pidgey went into the ball, and it shook three times before going into a ping, Kor returned Azure to his Pokeball, and picked up Pidgey's Pokeball. "Alright, I got a Pokemon, too!" Shouted Kor, talking to himself out loud.

Both Strike and Zoda gave Alexis and her pokemon a leer attack. But after a moment, they stopped and nodded, "Fine, just heal Lady Dark out." Strike said as he sent out his new Ledyba. Ledyba looked weak, and needed to be healed.

"Nice one Kor!" Chuck said, giving him a thumb's up.

Kor smiled as he gave Chuck a thumbs up, too. He felt excited to have caught a Pokemon, and now he had two Pokemon in his care. He was already looking forward to seeing more Pokemon. He was also relieved that Azure didn't attack him during the battle, but he was worried since he saw Azure use so much force on the Pidgey with Metal Claw, as he felt like he needed to be careful. "Thanks! You, too!" Shouted Kor, talking to Chuck.

''Ooh i want a pidgey too!'' James said pretty excited when he saw kor catch one. ''Let me see if i can find one myself.. there!'' He says while a pidgey lands not too far away from him. ''Blaze use Tackle!'' He said to Blaze who let out a kinda annoyed sound and just stood there. '' Oh come on! Just please attack him!'' James said while getting annoyed bye Blaze. Blaze finally seemed to listen and attacked the pidgey with a huge tackle who than used a tackle on Blaze aswell. ''Alright Blaze let's Finish this with a Ember!'' Blaze let out a Stream of flames out of his mouth right at the pidgey who took a huge amount of damage and was staggerd by the attack. ''Alright now im gonna trow my pokeball!'' James threw the pokeball at the pidgey! It is shaking 1...2...3... Ping. ''Yes i caught a pidgey too!'' He said happely too Kor who just caught one too. ''Hope you don't mind that i got one too though''

"Nice catch!" Chuck said. "Looks like your Cyndaquil doesn't listen to you much though. I'm sure, with time, he will though. Just needs to get to know you better."

"Yes well done." says Adam as he watched both trainers capture their pokemon. He simply waits patiently for the group to near the entrance of route 46 where he could capture the ground-type pokemon.

"Hahari would you mind using another heal pulse." Asked Alexis. The pokemon nodded and let out the same pulse, healing the pokemon. "And thats another route." She smiles.

Strike rolled his eyes, "You aren't making this easy, are you? I just think you don't want to be alone. But whatever, let's get a move on, we got to get to Cherrygrove City." Strike said as he sent Lady Dark back to her Pokeball and with Zoda back in his arms, kept walking forward towards Cherrygrove City.

Alexis just smiled innocently. "You know you'll need my help." she remarked as she followed behind him. Hahari walking by her side.

Strike grunted, "I don't need you. What I need is to find a Pokemon that can do exactly what yours can do but ten times better." Strike said as he continued walking. The route was filled with a bunch of trees and grass, which Strike knew any Pokemon could be hiding in. "Hey I think I see the entrance to Route 46 up ahead, that must be a good sign that we are almost to the city. Didn't you say you were from there?" Strike asked Alexis.

Alexis folded her arms and seemed upset by Strike's comment about her pokemon. "Good luck with that." She muttered to herself. As the two neared route 46's entrance. She did not answer Strike's last question.

Strike stopped and looked at Alexis, "Is there something wrong? You look upset." Strike asked Alexis. He then looked at Zoda, as the two didn't understand girls.

"Not at all..." she growled as she continued to walk, now ahead of Strike.

Strike and Zoda looked at each other puzzled. "Was it something I said?" Strike asked Zoda. As they started walking again, still puzzled.

(I am just going to skip time here.)

It didn't take long for Strike's group to reach Cherrygrove City. The town wasn't the biggest in Johto, but at least it was one route down with Alexis, wouldn't be long for Strike to be on his own again, just down to one more route. "So this is Cherrygrove City? Not that big is it, Zoda? How about we go to the PokeMart to get some items we need for the trip?" Strike said as they went in to the PokeMart.
