And so I suppose you can say that the official promotion of Moana has started to sail with the reveal of the voice behind Disney's new "princess": 

 

Auli’i Cravalho (her first name is pronounced au-lee-ee, I'm not entirely sure about her surname) is a newcomer who is a Native Hawaiian so she fits the character perfectly since Moana is Polynesian herself. I'm really glad that the voice is of a newcomer because it'll really define both the actress and the character instead of watching the film and getting reminded of another character from another film. So far we have the voice of Auli’i as the protagonist, and Dwayne "The Rock" who plays the demi-god Maui. Check out the Disney Wiki to find out more.

 

Kingdom Hearts-wise, from what all that I know of the film I feel it'd be wonderful to see the world of Moana in KH3. Using the big area advantage to show the world of the film, and who knows maybe they've included it since they do get early sneak-peeks on Disney's projects. (One can only hope!)

I'm soooooooooo looking forward to this . I hope KH3 could have Moana as a secret summon. That would be awesome.

Wow she's young, pretty different from other Disney voices.

I think she is going to make a fine actress and she is surprising young which means that she has great things ahead of her from this point out. As long as she is a stable person who doesn't go crazy, then she will be a fine newcomer in acting!

 

But I don't think the movie will be in KH3, I see it more as a world after KH3, like in KH4, or in a "spin-off" title.

That's not what I was expecting for Maui. I had a picture in my head of a tiki or easter island head with The Rock's face. Dunno why, maybe the tropical theme and the fact that he's a demi-god.

 

As for Moana, I guess I was picturing someone older, tougher and maybe with a bit of a sarcastic streak. I guess we'll see when the movie comes out.

Oh wow, that's pretty awesome!  So Auli'i's gonna be the voice of Moana!  She definitely sounds charismatic, and her voice definitely fits the character well!  Haha, I loved Auli'i's reaction when the casting crew told her that she got the role!  That was a priceless moment!

 

I wonder what Moana will be about?
