Sony announced their price cut for the PlayStation 4 of $349.99 in the US, which will go into effect tomorrow, October 9th. This is a $50 drop from the previous price of $399.99, which has been its price since late 2013.

 

The price will also be dropped in Canada, going from $449.99 CAD to $429.99 CAD. Here’s a quote from SCEA president and SEO Shawn Lauden regarding the price cut:

 

“Our goal at PlayStation has always been to offer the best place to play at a compelling value to gamers,” said Shawn Layden, president and CEO of SCEA. “We’re continuing to deliver on that commitment with this new price for PS4, making the console even more accessible to a broader audience this holiday. With highly anticipated games like Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Star Wars Battlefront launching soon and blockbuster exclusives like Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End on the horizon, there has never been a better time to join the PS4 community.”

Still too expensive.

No, it's not. It's at a fairly good price for what it is and what it has to offer especially now with its price cut. 

Whether it's $50 or not, I'd still buy. I just see it as being a bit more manageable than before it's price cut. That $50 off can be saved or put towards KH3 or any other legit games.  :happy:

I want to get a ps4 but I will wait to see if there is something like a special edition with FF XV or KH III.

I thought the same thing you did!  I've been holding out on a PS4 because I wanted to wait to see if there'd be a Kingdom Hearts III console bundle for when the game comes out!

 

But then, 2.8 came into the picture!  Lol, and I'm certainly no way in hell going to miss out on that game, so it looks like I'll be getting the PS4 a tad bit earlier than I thought I would! X3

 

Anyways, on topic, HELL YES, 350 BUCKS!  PS4, HERE I COME! (WHEN I'VE SAVED UP THE MONEY, THAT IS! LOL. )

 

Edit: And if a KHIII PS4 console bundle comes out, I'll just sell my would be current PS4 to get my KHIII PS4! Lmao. X3
