Hey guys, I need a little help. Black Friday/Cyber Monday is coming up, and I wish to buy myself a laptop. Now, I honestly have no clue exactly what laptop I should by. My budget is 400-500$ but I might be willing to go a little bit over depending on the laptop. I prefer to stay in 400$ I prefer HPs, but I'm willing to get a different brand.

Now the laptop I want I want it to be able to do two things;

I want it to be a 2 in 1 (not a detatchable tablet, just a laptop that either bends backwards or the screen twists around so that way I can draw on it) I want to use this laptop to draw with, so it must be able to bend backwards or twist around so that I may do so. I also want to be able to use a stylus to draw on it. Something like a Surface Pro but I can't afford those at all.

I also want to be able to record gameplay using my laptop. I want to start my lets play channel and I must be able to record footage using it with the capture card I'm going to get. I also must be Windows 7 and up. I would like to play games ON it, but I don't mind if I can't. I just need it to be able to record gameplay using a capture card and edit videos with whatever video editing software I get.

Other than that, that's it. Please help me out, especially since I really want to try to get it for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I really need it for my art and let's playing. Thank you!

Friend, your asking a lot from a $500 dollar laptop. I don't think you're gonna find one with all your specifications for that price, at least right now.

Wait until the actual day of Black Friday/Cyber Monday, and maybe. Maybe.

Right now, however... I doubt it.

A capture card should work on any regular PC. Now about your PC, you are asking a lot. Maybe you can get a Surface 3 (not the Pro, it's smaller counterpart).

Yeah, sad to say but at a $500 budget you probably won't get anything long-lasting, let alone have all the features you want. Being able to draw art and record/edit footage takes some decently powerful stuff. You'll either have to save up for longer or settle for something much less.

Sorry to let you know, but your budget probably won't be able to yeild those results.

PLUS HP and Dell are crap manufacturers. Their products, yes, are most popular, but there are definitely more affordable value PC's that make these two brands pale in comparison. You gotta do the research

The Sager NP3240 is a nice little laptop and will get you performance (albeit won't game), but has far more longevity and power than you could get in a Dell or HP laptop. If you save a couple hundred more, you can get a very well-crafted laptop that games, renders efficiently, AND lasts long.

Might I suggest a small formfactor PC?

As long as you're willing to build it, you can make your PC meet those specifications by picking out the parts yourself. It maybe will be suitable for gaming, but it can definitely get things like recording. In addition, the case above is as small as a laptop, and cheaper too! PM me, and I'll help you with it.

(P.S. A dedicated tablet is far better than a 2-in-1 for art. Unfortunately, the best stuff is expensive)
