December 21, 201510 yr http://aselia.wikia.com/wiki/Linear_Motion_Battle_System Quick Google search will tell you it's a battle system designed by the creators of the Tales of series. Perfectly normal. Hiroyuki Ito designed the Active Time Battle System for the Final Fantasy series.
December 21, 201510 yr From the sound of things it sounds like it's basically the Tales Of series' version of the whole turn-based battle style of RPGs, just with it's own unique rules and features, similar to how FF's ATB style is familiar yet unique from other RPGs. I don't know the exact mechanics behind it since I don't play the games, but it sounds more or less like it's own thing while still being familiar enough for any RPG fan to pick it up and get it down after a few battles.
