An accomplishment like that really doesn't mean a whole lot to most people, and if you feel the need to tell others about it then that probably means you're trying to get their praise so you can validate the importance of what you've done. I know you don't need to go around bragging all the time, but I don't see an issue with casually bringing it up once or twice. And if they don't care, then oh well. I'll stop.
