If you dislike a language, or an aspect included in a country's culture, does this make you racist towards the people inhabiting the country?
I, myself, can admit that I don't find some languages nice or some cultures appropriate. But I always thought that racism is much more than "I don't like this"; it's deep, unchanging hatred which leads to discrimination. And it's aimed at a race. Humans. People. As far as I know, I have nothing against the people who speak the language I dislike, or follow the footsteps of a culture I find less interesting.
You can't like everything. For example, if you don't like a book, are you racist towards the author and the people who like it? If you don't like the taste of apples, will the ones who love them call you a racist?
That sounds pretty odd, to my ears at least.
I'd love to hear more opinions on this. It's been in my mind for a while now.
I just want to know what people think about this.
