Hey, guys. As some of you know, I'm 15 years old but will be 16 next year. I want to go to PAX East for the whole weekend next year, but there's one problem: hotels. I'm not sure if any of them at all accept 16 year olds. Money would not be an issue for me, but I've heard hotels are still cautious about letting young guests stay.

Do you have any advice? I want to get this out of the way before any problems arise next year. I haven't checked into a hotel on my own before, so I thought I'd ask others.

You have to be 18 to check into a hotel, some hotels even have a 21+ rule.  You will likely need someone older to go with you if you want to go.

It would be best to get a room with a group and then you won't have to worry about checking in. I don't know much about staying in hotels for conventions as I have a couple big ones 20 minutes from where I live.

You are too to check in alone. Better have someone 18 or older with you.

So, I did some research.

Apparently, it's perfectly fine for me to purchase a boarding pass, go through all the security checkpoints, and board a flight to Boston alone.

But I can't check into a hotel alone.

I know the reasons why, I just find it hilarious in a way.
