Hey there everyone, how's it going!?  So then, I wanted to talk about the Star Wars franchise, specifically its fanbase!  And so I, The Friendly Neighborhood Webhead, bring you this video, where I express my thoughts on the fanbase of Star Wars!  Enjoy the video! :D

In my honest opinion, I love all the films equally, and well, I get that the prequels have their flaws, but then again, every movie has flaws! I think that the Star Wars Saga so far is one of the most amazing cinematic sagas ever to be put into the screen! (The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a tough rival, though!) So, where do you all stand in terms of your love or hate of the Prequels? :)

Featured Replies

Well to be honest, Episode 1 is my favorite   I grew up with the prequels coming out so I watched them the most. They contain a lot of nostalgia and it's hard for me to hate on them.

I grew up with the Prequels, in fact those are the only Star Wars movies that my family owns that will change... I liked them and as somewhat bad as Anakin was in the Prequels, I really liked his character the best, mostly just the transition from a cute little kid to my favorite villain mostly just because of James Earl Jones's epic voice.

I grew up with both the Original Trilogy and the Prequels!  I love all of them equally!  Oh yes, Episode I is pretty badass, I love Qui Gon Jinn and Darth Maul! Also, I got hooked on Liam Neeson thanks to Episode I!  I've seen most of his movies, he's such a great actor!  The prequels introduced me to him, ya know? :D

Haha, yeah, Anakin's journey is definitely something to see during the course of the films!  That moment when he finally became Darth Vader...gahhh, chills! James Earl Jones definitely brings to life Darth Vader's intimidating and haunting persona! :D

Prequel bashing is just the tip of the iceberg of toxicity in the fanbase. Have you seen the comment section of most Ep. VII videos on the official channel? 90% of those comments are people bashing the movie just because of the plot.

Yeah, I know what you mean!  That's precisely a point that I talked about in my video!  You see, people want any new Star Wars film to be similar to the Original Trilogy, ya know?  The Prequels didn't do that, and so they got hate!  Episode VII rolled around, and it was an amazing film, and yet people criticized it because it follows the Original Trilogy more closely in terms of tone and form, ya know?  In other words, those types of Star Wars fans will never be happy, while I'm just here, enjoying the saga as a whole! :3

I wouldn't say I love them all equally, but I love both Star Wars trilogy(I still haven't seen episode VII for some reason)Revenge of the Sith being my favorite.Attack of the Clones is my least favorite Star Wars, but I still like it.

After seeing Plinkett's review of the Star Wars prequels I can understand why so many people hate those films though. He see those films like I see a game like Final Fantasy XIII,they grew up with the original trilogy so when a new film comes out with the Star Wars name, but at its core its not a Star Wars movie it sucks.I grew up with the Star Wars prequels,no matter what flaws they have I really can't hate them, they're fun to watch

Oh yes, Revenge Of The Sith was definitely amazing, one of the darkest films in the saga in my opinion!  Empire's also pretty dark, and according to John Boyega, Episode VIII will be even darker!!!  Gahh, I can't wait!!! X_X

Well, the movies may have their flaws, but it's like people say: "You can never truly replicate the original!" And that stands true, ya know?  I mean, the Prequels may have their faults, but overall, I find them extremely enjoyable and add so much depth to the Star Wars saga as a whole!  And I'm sure the Sequels will be amazing as well!  But yeah, everyone has their different opinions, but at least in this thread, we're talking about the films peacefully and calmly, like any person should, ya know? :)
