In English all the Fortellers have completely new voices and in the Japanese version is seems that most are new or all are new but 

 

Ava sounds very familiar, listening to Xion's japanese voice it seems like a perfect match.

Gula sounds like Roxas

Invi sounds a lot like Aqua

Ira sounds a lot like Riku

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It will be interesting to see whether or not this is actually true. It doesn't confirm anything story wise but I wonder if this is the case, then why it's not the same for the English version.

I doubt it's anything significant. They just hire who they think will best bring out the characters personality. It may be just voice acting, but even that requires hiring particular people perfect for the job.

I think the characters sound a lot alike English actuallly. The only one that seems significantly different to me is Ava. And voice actors are more than capable of diguising their voices to fit a character. Just listen to Sora vs Vanitas, or even Young Xehanort between 3D and KH3
