Discussion of a Statement made by Yen Sid

Posted

From the secret ending of KH3D

"The Keyblade Wars of yore plunged the true Kingdom Harts into darkness and the X-blade was shattered. But the lights still shining in the hearts of children rebuilt the world that we know today. And the light from the broken X-blade was then divided into seven, to protect the number of pure hearts in the world."

It i interesting that It is implied that there have been multiple Keyblade wars in the past due to the plural 's' after 'war'. That may mean that KHX was probably just one of those wars and that many wars may have came after or preceded the war in KHX.

Could the 'lights still shining in the hearts of children' be a reference to the young keyblade wielders from KHX? (they do look like children bwahaha)

"When the time comes, and there is war. You mustn't fight! Instead you must fly away from here to the worlds outside"

I think we've all known for at lwast a month that the Dadilions where those chilren.

As for what Yen Sid saidl, It is odd that he's the only one to pluralize it, but I'm not really putting much stock in it, It could just be a traslation error, like when Roxas called the keyblade "he" instead of "it"

"Why? Tell me why he picked you!"

It might also have something to do with the fact that Yen Sid tends to speak in a slightly more archaic dialect than everyone else

I agree, pretty sure it's just the way Yen Sid structures his dialect.

Sometimes war is pluralized to indicate all of the multiple battles in the one 'war'. It's kind of weird, but I don't think it means there was more than one and I don't think it'd be a translation error since Yen Sid says Keyblade War normally several times in the same game.

This exactly the reason, it's just an old turn of phrase.
