I also think the person in the black coat in the e3 2016 trailer is two separate people at different times based on mannerisms.
I think the one with the energetic personality is the MoM and the cool demeanor is Luxu
Nomura said the MoM gave cutesy nicknames to some of the foretellers suggesting the energetic one is MoM.
Luxu's scene involves him calmly watching the end of the world almost emotionally detached.
I bring this up because if that's the case then the person being talked to saying the foretellers can't do any anything is the MoM as Nomura said and since he's talking to a foreteller, he hasn't disappeared yet. He doesn't seem to care much about the world lasting long as Luxu said. The trend of them being named after the seven deadly sins and leading groups of child soldiers that collectively destroy the world, suggests that history might not record them as good people. In fact the aim of THIS WHOLE THEORY is to suggest that the MoM and 6 foretellers were an entirely good group gone wrong that was intended to be gone wrong from the beginning,

If this is a case of the same thing happening twice then maybe the current master we are seeing in Kh Chi was replaced by someone from the past who was a lot more energetic and evil than the foretellers knew.
That person is likely connected to Xehanort in some form setting in place the plans we are seeing now making 5 of 6 masters and giving the 6th the only keyblade we see today and using all of them for vessels of darkness in the final battle putting them all on the side of darkness as the seven deadly sins, including the body of the original MoM.
So the foretellers would be key to the final battle all on the side of darkness resurrected as Norts.
