Other than 'I want Kingdom Hearts' power for myself so that I can destroy stuff and create stuff', what motivations could a new villain have for his/her actions? Within the next saga, it's best if Nomura adds in more plot elements and plot devices so that the next villain isn't just after Kingdom Hearts' power like all the other antagonists. The new villain could wield a new weapon, he may try to exterminate keyblade wielders or even pursue the book of prophecies.

Depends on what has actually happened to the book of prophecies. If it has been destroyed, I doubt anyone wants any more time travel in this series xD

Anyway, ulterior motives could be something entirely new, but relating to Kingdom Hearts (won't be KH without... well...KH) and obviously not the x-blade. Maybe it could be something relating to Xehanort's defeat? Like a successor or something? With different plans and goals of course. There are just too many possibilities to think about.

Well there's tons of different possibilities for a future villains future motive but it's kinda hard to guess what could be a possible motive without knowing what the future villain is actually gonna be like, personality etc. And just like what MythrilMagician said above, kinda hard to come up with a motive involving the Book of Prophecies if we don't know what has or is gonna happen to it. Knowing Nomura, he's probably gonna make the next villains motive really instance or outrageous; seriously the guy can think up of almost anything...Some generic examples I guess could be: He's racist against the Light/Darkness; Possibly trying to change the events of time to prevent something like the destruction of Xehanort, Kingdom Hearts or the Book of Prophecies; Sora's Mom pissed off at Sora for ditching her for the past few years i dunno lol

Haha, there's a good villain right there xD

Corrupting everything because corruption is what the villain is the literal manifestation of. I'd like the main villain to be based around negativity corrupting the forces of Light and Darkness, with corrupted light as it's main tool, the minions basically light based versions of the Heartless, and the other villains mostly along the Well Intentioned Extremist and Knight Templar bent. We've already faced a lot of Dark Is Evil villains with the Xehanort saga so I think it would be appropriate for us to shift to Light Is Not Good, and give the Light it's chance to shine... and burn everything to ashes. The end idea is that neither Light or Dark are evil, as the games have hinted at, but that negative feelings corrupt either, eventually resulting in it becoming a force of their own, ergo beings like The Heartless come into being.
